Which one would you pick and my argument is done?

We also had 4 NFL WR's, two NFL QB's, and an NFL TE the past two seasons. It's tough. The defense in 06 was head and shoulders better than the defense we had under Willy Robinson. Also, we went 10-3 with that team with Nutt as the coach. Had we had a competent coach that year, who knows what we could have done. It's tough to pick.

Defensive line. If you have talent and depth on your defensive line then your going to be in a lot of games. Yes of course you need some type of pulse on the offensive side, but a good and deep Dline makes a big difference in games.

1. QB
1a. OL

Used to be just OL for me, but after having a solid OL and shite for a QB last season I'm convinced you have to have at least a QB who can manage the offense.

I really don't understand how a real football guy could choose anything besides OL. It is the most important position, bar none.

Interior linemen

I said interior because I feel the DL is not too far behind OL, but OL is king.

O-line/D-line, and I don't think it's really close. This is the one thing that sets the SEC apart from everyone else, making us the best conference there is.

Hell, last year, think of who had both of those(LSU/Bama). Who had the best QB's and WR's? Not either of those teams. QB led teams (Ark/Ga), last year, got violated by LSU/Bama. Best WR corps didn't mean much when the D-line is wrecking shite up.

One might ask about the RB's, but the SEC is full of good backs. Look at a guy like Arian Foster's(First guy to come to mind) career, seemed like he underachieved in college, but he had a shitty O-line, gets to NFL and is all-pro behind people who actually block. Hell, LSU has 4 guys who could start at 95% of other schools, goes to show the general depth to be found.
DB's are good and all, but is it a coincidence the best at those play on the same D as the best D-line? I think not. Anyways, DB's aren't hard too hard to find.
LB's are ineffective when their D-line is getting bitched around by the O-line, see SEC Champ last year.

If you do it right, then it is O-line, then D-line, then linebacker, then RB, then DB, then QB.

Because of the transient nature of college football, coaches make a choice to either build a system that doesn't rely on having a stellar QB or build one that depends heavily on the QB and take the chance that the new one every other year will be able to perform.

For Alabama, the QB is way down the list. If he turns out to be good, then all the better.

How is this even a debate? It's QB and it's not close.

Alabama is a poor example to draw from because you typically have better players at almost every position than the opponent you face, and McCarron doesn't exactly suck. LSU had a dominant defense, OL, and RBs last yr so what was their downfall in the championship game? QB play. They would have lost the first meeting with Bama too if Bama didn't have a complete abortion of a kicker.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. If all things are equal between you and your opponent except one position, having an elite player at which position gives you the biggest advantage? QB, and it's really not debatable.

O-line...with the C being most important IMO.

Yep

And the question is "most important position"...by saying DL/OL, you are naming entire groups. It's like answering what's the most important position in baseball with "infield". The QB controls the game and most of it rests on his decision making. You can have one of the top OL/DL combos in the country, but if you have Rick Clausen as QB, you're going to go 5-6 and lose to Vandy your last game of the year at home.
