He definitely was. They wasted 30 seconds earlier in that drive. Les was a buffoon

The Ole Miss game was a nightmare but the Tennessee vs LSU 2010 game was the maddest I’ve ever been at a football game. Even when we won I was pissed to be honest.

Watching the clock run down was so goddamn infuriating and seeing the mass subs.

I wonder how long he last if West Virginia doesn’t lose to Pitt in 07.

Sorry Chief...
Nothing comes close to that LSU-UT game in 2010...There we’re like 37 1/2 frickups
In the last ten seconds...
Then there’s Jamie Howard against Auburn in 94...
Anything else is a distant 3rd...

I struggle with a head coach example. Sure, I can think of a bad head coach call or two. But nothing to the extent of "most incompetent ever".

UGA has a string of defensive coordinators having "the most incompetent coaching ever in a single game".

Example 1: Willie Martinez vs Tennessee 2009. Joey Freshwater called the same bootleg action over and over and over and we never figured it out. Nothing like giving up 500 yards of offense to the Jonathan Crompton of QBs.

Example 2: Todd Grantham vs Georgia Tech 2010. Yes... every UGA DC struggled with the option offense the first time they faced it. But no one relied so heavily on stopping that offense with 3 defensive linemen as much as Grantham in 2010. He left the two 3-4 DEs in charge of both the C and B gaps and the NT in charge of the A gaps. The result? 411 yards rushing. The B Backs got 100 yards rushing with a 9 ypa. Grantham had a gameplan, and he never deviated from it. Luckily, we outscored them that day. But our defense was shredded.

Example 3: Jeremy Pruitt vs Florida 2015. A treon harris offense put up 400 yards and 27 points on us. It is true that our offense/special teams stunk. 5 turnovers. But that just makes the 400 yards the more unbelievable. Florida got 400 yards of offense with a short field all game. Hell, Pruitt only forced 1 punt.

Nothing rubs salt in a fanbases wound more than an opposing OC calling the same damn play over and over and the DC never having any viable counter to it. All 3 of those examples submitted UGA fans to that experience.

Spurrier did the same thing to Grantham with draw plays while at South Carolina. But I blame the DC less when the running back doing the abuse is Marcus Lattimore.

Those 3 "most incompetent" examples were executed by Jonathan Crompton, Anthony Allen/Roddy Jones, and Treon Harris. Good grief.

The 2014 game was worse. We were 14 point favorites and Florida lost to Mizzou by 30 points the game before. They ran the same running play over and over and we could not stop it. I think that was the most rushing yards our program has ever given up. I left Jax a sad man that day.

You're right. Florida attempted 6 passes in 2014. I got confused about the two. Pruitt was on the hook for both of the losses.

I don’t know if I blame the players or Croom but losing to freaking MAINE is the biggest embarrassment in school history. You rush for more yards, throw for more than 2 and 1/2 times more yards, find yourself near there endzone time after time and lose 9-7 lol. Nobody can say they had a bigger embarrassment than that. WE OWN THAT TITLE!

I remember thinking towards the end of the SCar/UGA 2010 game that the defense knew it was going to Lattimore, the entire stadium knew it was going to Lattimore, the UGA coaching staff knew it was going to Lattimore, it just didn't matter. He played like a man possessed. He wasn't going down without dragging 3 defenders behind him. It was insane.

Spurrier neutered the best aspect of that defense (OLB).

The draw play would allow our aggressive OLBs to shoot outside in their pass rush creating a hole the size of a mack truck in the C Gap. Give Lattimore that much green grass and it didnt matter who he met at the other end of the hole. It wasn't going to end well for the defensive player.

Dennis Francione did this to Nick Saban and LSU in 2002. Fran ran a smoke draw over and over and the Saban/Muschamp D couldn't stop it, even when they knew it was coming. When the dust settled UA beat LSU 31-0 in what was probably Saban's most humiliating defeat ever as a head coach.

In true Nick Saban fashion, though, he crushed Alabama the next year and won the NC at LSU.

I was at our game playing South Carolina when they had Lattimore. He was a beast no doubt but we totally shut him down that game. He just could not penetrate our defense. He ended the game with 39 yards. I will never forget that game .

Kevin Sumlin from about the 3 minute mark of the 3rd quarter until the end of the 2017 game vs. UCLA.
