Williams was gonna win a Heisman at OU without Lincoln?
This is comical.

Just curious, was there a legal precedence that forced the transfer portal on the NCAA?
I know the backstory on NIL, but am not aware of lawsuits leading to the transfer portal, or more specifically the relaxing of transfer rules. It just landed at the same time as NIL, which produced this crapfest.
Well, I guess there are legal wranglings after all.

Bama fans led the charge saying players deserved to be paid during the early Saban years. Now yall are bitching bc you got what you wanted? frick off
Of course players should be paid. The problem with NIL is that the NCAA did no planning whatsoever in laying out parameters and limits on it.
When it got out three years ago that Bryce Young received a million from NIL as a true sophomore, that was shocking to me as a long time college football fan. That amount is minuscule by today’s NIL standards.

Even if the NCAA had put caps on NIL that wouldn't stand in court.

OU is a small state with a small GDP. They had an advantage pay players under the table. They can’t compete now that buying players is not longer a black market activity.

I saw on twitter that OU has lost its entire offensive line to the portal. If true, that is some straight bullshite and that’s really bad for the game as a whole.
Ummm dude get your facts straight. They lost 2 that I am aware of to the portal. However 3 of their starters are out of eligibility. So next year they will have a 100% new OL.

While the OP doesn't state this, the general outcome doesn't change. Oklahoma will be going into the best defensive front 7 conference with an entirely new offensive line, a new QB and a new OC. Not really a recipe for success if you ask me.

I get it, I'm an LSU fan and I believe that our defense will be decent next year and our offense will only take a small step back and we will be in the playoff hunt. Anyone looking from the outside probably thinks those are crazy expectations.
Why no, not crazy but delusional. Unless you have an influx of portal players that defense is not going to improve. Plus you are replacing a Heisman winning QB and two 1st or 2nd Round WRs on offense.

I'm willing to concede that their defense will improve but that's only because I don't think I've ever seen an SEC defense as terrible. Damned near no where to go but up.
The offense will need a miracle to not see a big dropoff.
