Lots of similarities between the two. Both undefeated until the end, highly ranked throughout the season, both lost their last two games, no conference titles or a NC.

Aggie may have it worse because they’re not often in a position to win championships while tOSU has the expectation to be there every year.

I did hear last night that tOSU has never won back-to-back NCs so they may have a pretty high level of disappointment today.

Buckeyes. They legit thought they were going to win it all. Aggie had hope, but were realistic in their expectations.

I'd say A&M. OSU has a fresh natty in the trophy case and doesn't need to prove anything to doubters. A&M had a weak SEC schedule, and when asked to step up against better competition, they failed. They are on the right trajectory, but talk about taking the wind out of your sails.

Aggie in no way should be disappointed in their season.

The last 2 games sucked but they had an all time great year in program history.

A&M. OSU can reasonably expect to be in this position nearly annually.

OSU.

Aggy (at least the ones in my family) were thrilled with the ride but still struggle with BAS battered Aggy syndrome. Their words not mine.

A&M is just happy to win more than 8 games.

Ohio state fans were comparing their team to the all time greats like 19 LSU, 01 Miami, etc before the Indiana loss.

A&M fans were more reasonable.

We way over performed with a second year coach in a season we weren’t expected to do anything.

It was fun. I’ll take it.

Has the 2026 OSU narrative started yet? Or do we have to wait until they get wins in the fall against Rutgers and Cleveland Community College?

The answer is OSU. Best roster, returning champs, etc.

My takeaway from all this is that the variability in the CFP is high and a lot of teams are really struggling with multiple weeks off to get going.

Its almost a week 1 situation for some of these teams and while it’s an advantage to avoid a first round game it really looks like it might be a real disadvantage in the actual second round game.

I’d imagine Ohio State. If A&M got disappointed after a season like they just had they’d be a pretty miserable bunch for a long time.
