Am I crazy or wasn't Whitehead commited to Miss St before he switched to Auburn? Sounds like Nutt just got told what he wanted to hear by a kid that was too nice to tell him to frick off.

To make matters worse, Nutt basically didn't tell the truth. Whitehead was at one time committed to Mississippi State, which apparently was not a problem for Nutt. He never announced a commitment to Ole Miss. He visited Auburn on numerous occasions, including with his parents.
Because Nutt said Whitehead told him "it was business," there are now those implying that something must have been wrong in his recruiting. Whitehead is an honor student, an outstanding young guy. And now his name is being smeared.
Nutt’s a whiner and has been ever since he moved into the SEC at as Arkansas coach in 1998. But calling out a teen-age football player who has done everything the right way because he allegedy did something you have talked others into doing and are probably actively trying to talk others into doing truly is shameful.
The saddest part is that, coming from the coach who said it, it’s not surprising.
