You’re absolutely right. I was referring to the playoff teams. I felt wehad an edge over Ohio state since they didn’t have to play them with their star receiver. I edited the post to reflect that.

I’d say yes. #4 finish definitely means something. It means a lot to the recruits we just signed.

I do think the style offense Jimbo runs will better suit Max than the illusive “Joe Brady Offense” LSU attempted to run this year.

Mond would have likely lost the Alabama game, but won us the two Mississippi games, and the lsu game.

The thing is that most of the relationships with this class was developed last year. And many were swayed or made up their minds when we beat Bama. Nolan was one.
Despite what fans of other schools think about our season, our recruits are convinced that we are heading in the right direction and that our season went south due to key injuries.
This year, juniors are seeing a 4 loss season. But they were impressed with the win and atmosphere against Alabama and feel our losses are due to key injuries.
Jimbo had been recruiting well despite 4 losses before so I don’t see that changing. However, if we have a top 10 season next year combined with the Alabama win this year, I could see another top 5 finish in recruiting
If we have another 4 loss season next year, I would expect to see a decline in recruiting.
NIL aside, this years class has more to do with our top 4 finish last year and the win over Alabama than our overall results this year. Jimbo also echoed the same sentiment during his signing day conference.

Max is better than Mond. But it ain't saying much. I am kind of happy to be rid of Minimum Johnson. Will miss Jake, though.
