NFL can't compete with SEC $$$

Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons has signed a deal to return to the program in 2027, On3’s Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett report. In his first year at Mizzou, Simmons has led the Tigers to a 6-2 record.

Sweet. He needs to help recruit some OL out of the portal for next year.

I would too if suddenly Mizzou paid players like Bama always has.

You’re missing the point dumbass.

I’m not opposed to players being paid. Extensions being announced mid season is asinine.

In Fayetteville, football is not dying. It's been dead for a while.

Maybe it'll come back as a zombie.

I don't disagree with the sentiment here, and he can still opt in to the draft but I think this was a move to mainly stop the inevitable suitors, noise, chaos and speculation and allow him to focus on himself (recall all the noise with Kamario Taylor being poached just a few weeks ago). Either way good news until it isn't for Mizzou!

what are they supposed to do if teams are reaching out with offers to their agents
wait until chaos comes at the end of the season or strike while the iron is hot and lock in your position that you are comfortable with assuming Drinkwitz doesn't take another job

Genius move by his agent for negotiating NFL.

In the NFL 1st round picks can negotiate signing bonus and protections.

College football is now doing to the NFL what HS Seniors have been doing to the MLB for years. Leverage the school.

Such insults from a program that's achieved so many nation championships

Football - 1
Baseball - 1
MBB - 0 w/0 Final Four appearances
and since you mentioned WBB, that's also a "0" for MIZ-WHO.

We gave the world Sophie Cunningham. That’s a big enough accomplishment as far as I’m concerned!
