Besides a few Nutt and Petrino years, they haven't been relevant since the 80s.

Congrats. We both suck at football. Now do basketball which is supposed to be your best sport and actually bring some value to the conference

Arkansas finished 2nd in the West in 2010.

I don't know which program has the higher ceiling and I don't care.

Arkansas football throughout history has been on the big stage many times and just can't finish.

They had a chance to win back to back titles from 1964-1965 but an injury to the starting QB in the first half led to an upset.

They had a chance to win a title in 1969 but Arkansas squandered a 14-0 lead against Texas as 50 million watched.

Arkansas really should have won or shared a title in 1977 but the writers and other pollsters screwed Arkansas over for precious, I do never wrong Notre Dame.

Arkansas was very close to being in the title game in 1988 against Miami. Had Steve Atwater held on to of what could have been the game winning interception.

In 1998, Arkansas should have beaten Tennessee but Clint Stoerner went full retard and we know how that ended.

In 2006, Arkansas had chances to play in the title game but an awful passing game against LSU and the Reggie Fish muffed punt against Florida ruined of what could have been a historical year.

In 2010, If Arkansas didn't lose the Alabama then who knows what the stakes could have been in the Auburn game especially if Ryan Mallet didn't get injured.

In 2011, If Arkansas beat LSU in Baton Rouge then you have a very interesting tie between Bama and Arkansas for the SEC title game.

The 2014 and 2015 years were loaded but Bert couldn't win the close games and had the worst fourth quarter record in the nation.

Not only can they no longer get on big stage, they can't even beat shitty programs like Memphis that had no business beating Arkansas or any SEC teams.

I hope for your sake this is trolling. Astounding ignorance otherwise.

I notice you can’t refute it.

According to wikiepdia, AI, and just the law of math averages, you average 6.5 wins and 5.7 losses from 1992 to 2008.

They had their best 3 year run in probably 50 years of their program from 2009-2011 and averaged 10-3 and never finished higher than 2nd in the West. This is just factual.

Is that Ignorant? I’d love to know how

Be very shocked if you respond to this with any stats or actual evidence whatsoever than saying I’m “ignorant” lmao

They averaged 10-3 from 1987 to 1989.

They averaged 9-3 from 1984 to 1986.

They averaged 10-2 from 1977 to 1979.

They averaged 9-2 from 1968 to 1970.

They averaged 9-2 from 1964 to 1966.

Ok, be that as it may, Arkansas averaged 6-6 from entering the conference in 1992 to 2008 when Petrino showed up.

They averaged 8-4 in Petrino’s 4 years. They averaged 10-3 in 09 to 2011 which arguably the greatest 3 year run for Arkansas in 40 years I’d say. 2011 was your first sugar bowl invite in 30 years.

Since 2012, Arkansas has had the worst program in the conference. Statistically, by number of losses, and strength of schedule losses to some absolute bottom feeder programs like San Jose State, ULM, North Texas, Western Kentucky, Memphis, etc

I just described nearly the last 40 years of Arkansas football and every hog fan on here is calling me “ignorant” for saying they don’t have a higher ceiling than Mizzou? But I notice they can’t refute it at all with actual stats or evidence.

The Arkansas fans here are acting like they just are going through a temporary down turn and are a blue chip program regularly or something when they’ve never won the conference and have finished ranked once in the last 15 years. It’s not the 1970s.

So it’s not a stretch at all to say their 10-3 average in 09-11 was ‘agruably’ one of their best runs in program history. And the best run in 30+ years.

The 2009-2011 years were sandwiched between the mediocre Nutt years and the awful Bert, Chad and Pittman years.

The 60s, 70s and 80s were much better decades with more accomplishments.

It would be ranked last on the list.

Ok , so easily the best years of Arkansas football was 40+ years ago. With no significant accomplishments outside of the 2010 and 2011 seasons which you rank last in most accomplished.

So it’s not really a stretch to say their ceiling isn’t higher than Mizzou’s.

If Arkansas made better hires then and if Silverfied ends of being a good hire then yes Arkansas might have a higher potential than Missouri which isn't that big of a stretch.

One of the appealing things about the Arkansas program to Frank Broyles was the no pro sports or major universities that would be rivals. That was a rarity then and even now.

He applied in 1952 and 1954 but then AD John Barnhill told him no due to lack of head coaching experience.

Arkansas can be a good job considering the rapid fan base, they just lack an administrative that shares that passion.

You cucks try so hard to be relevant, but at the end of the day, no one gives a frick about a bottom feeder program.

Arkansas fans have never viewed the Arkansas program at some elite level.

What nonsense.

Arkansas is a blue collar underdog program. They have pride in the razorbacks but aren't arrogant.

They are more frustrated with I don't give a shite administration that is the total opposite of the Frank Broyles regime.

And the only teams to go to Atlanta out of the West more than Arkansas in that time frame were Alabama and LSU, and LSU only went once more than Arkansas did.
