Team X is "gonna surprise folks" is one of the stupidest talking points any sports uses. Lemme guess what else you have in that impressive sports brain of yours:

- Position Group A was good last year and is going to take a step up.
- Position Group B is underrated and Player 1 is going to turn some heads.
- Our biggest weakness last year was Position Group C and I trust Coach 1 to improve them a bunch.
- Coach 2 is gone, and his playing calling wit him!
- We get Team A, at home and we will definitely shock the world against them!
- Team B loses too much from last year, and even though they beat us handily last year, we are definitely going to beat them this year!
- Player 2 will be an NFL Draft pick.
- Player 3 might not be as big, strong, and fast as some other player on Team B, but I'd rather have him in our system!
- Team C is coming off a strong opponent and we are coming off a bye, we are definitely going to beat them!

- don't take my word for it, that's just what I'm hearing from my sources inside the program. Straight from the horses' mouths

Are you REALLY trying to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to a coach on my own team that I watched get torched for 7 years and was pretty much run out of Norman? REALLY?

Dude you have no football knowledge whatsoever.

I know what a first down is and how many points a field goal is.

Les Miles' scheme is just fine.

8 losses the past two seasons. 5 of those losses were by two TDs or more. In 2014 it was the 75th ranked offense and in 2015 it was the 39th ranked offense. That's with Leonard Fournette, La'el Collins, Trey Quinn, Malachi Dupree, Travin Dural and Brandon Harris(who swamp kittens believe is the most "talented" QB to play the game in the last 5 years and more than one on this board has legitimately felt he'd not only be drafted, but drafted highly). The offense was that poor, and all the while having the number 8 defense in 2014(Chavis) and the number 25 defense in 2015(no Chavis, lolz).

That's the problem with fans. They'd rather see a long incompletion than a five yard run.

Their passing offense hasn't been in the top 100 in the country in the last two seasons. That's the problem with fans that think they're smart but are actually really dumb, like you. They'd rather see a 2 yard run three times in a row than a first down through the air. The point is to be balanced and therefore unpredictable so the defense can't key on too many things, take advantage of mismatches, and score more points than the other team. LSU doesn't do any of these things with any sort of consistency. They abandon the passing attack, and without an elite Chavis defense to bail them out, they suffer for it. They have an offensive coordinator that's led top 5 NFL offenses, yet Miles philosophy and overarching system hampers them. When they had ODBjr and Mettenberger, their best offense in 20 years... they STILL had a much better defense than offense.

And Dave Aranda is one of the best DC's in college football.

He's coached 3 years at the power 5 level in arguably the weakest division in the power 5. He gets to pad his stats and keep his squad healthy playing Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois, and Minnesota every year.

What's he done to deserve being called a terrible defensive coordinator?

Lost to a 5 loss LSU team and let Anthony Jennings throw all over him. Ohio State molested him. What has he done to you to deserve the label "best DC's in college football"? Losing two in a row to Northwestern?
