Kirby Smart

If I was an AD, I would lay out the red carpet for him... drastically over pay him if it's needed.

They could very easily start at 5-0 next year.

4-1 maybe but not 5-0

Pinknel should NOT be in trouble at all. Moving to a new conference and having the injuries they had explains a lot of last year.

Since 2005:

2006 8-5
2007 12-2
2008 10-4
2009 8-5
2010 10-3
2011 8-5
2012 5-7

I'd agree. Unfortunately, Coach Pinkel has always run the super clean, student success, family angle when it comes to the overall program. His divorce, rumored weather girl banging, DUI, and poor recruiting do lead him to a bit more scrutiny. Especially after leaving the Big 12 and reallocating the resources that used to be dedicated to getting the hidden gems in Texas haven't been providing the recruiting wins there used to be.

Recruiting rankings are all subjective, but in addition to everything else including the losing season it adds up to a little discontent in the fanbase, especially after being told we needed to step it up at a fan/donor group after the SEC move and having cranes over Faurot Field expanding the stadium next season.

Haters, I'm gonna fuel the fire with the following statement: I truly don't think Mizzou will make it thru the out of conference games unscathed.

In fact, I believe we totally shite the bed during the first game.

Yes, I have zero faith in this team or the coach. James Franklin will frick up, get injured, or be a leaderless fool. We'll throw in Mauk too late to save the game, which will be unrealistic. Cycle will repeat throughout season. Pinkel will get fired.

Mizzou will make an awful head scratching hire who will do worse the following year. Mizzou does not make home run hires.

Yes, I said it.

It seems to be the Mizzou way. The thing that makes me feel somewhat okay is that Richt was one of the final candidates for the Mizzou job that the AD passed up.

Mike Alden seems to have a type of coach that he likes, the Pinkel/Richt clean program process oriented type of guy. If there's something I like about Alden (besides fundraising, etc) it's that he seems to be able to find decent guys that can make some good moves. As bad as the Haith hire seemed (and as bad as it seems after the Miami stuff), Haith fits a profile. I don't mind that profile at all.

Would I be opposed to a Petrino? Probably not, but it wouldn't seem like a very Mizzou thing to do. I think Alden will see it's going to be the most important hire of his tenure (if he doesn't follow Pinkel) and pull something good out.

Vandy is not a given either win or lose. We were moving the ball with ease the first quarter until Franklin went down. Should be a close game but I don't think there's any way to call it either way. So yes, there is a possibility of being 5-0.

In your opinions, what does he need to do this year, for him to retain his job, or stay off a very hot seat?

What he needs to do is seven wins, but I think we'll be lucky to get six wins.

Wow! 5 weeks in without a conference game?!

That stretch home will be brutal.

Someone who can recruit. Just lost out to Nebraska on a 4 star from Missouri (Harrison), embarrassing.

I thought after the success Pinkel had with Daniels, Maclin, Aldon Smith and Gabbert that recruiting would pick up. I thought moving to the SEC and the stadium upgrades would boost recruiting. Very dissappointing so far this year.

As long as Pinkel has those pictures of the AD's office party,he should be good to go.

Really, he beat us like a rented mule in the final years of the Big Bevo.

Mizzou fans don't understand football. I do. They don't understand they're about to have a good year. I do.
