People don't specifically intend to choose their sexual preference.
That's why we need to start forcing them. People are too afraid to ask them when they are young so they let that shite build up.
I can remember my lil cousin always hanging with the guys in our family, playing ball, etc. Then when she turned a teen she never wanted to wear makeup, always played basketball and softball. We never questioned her but always wondered. Time for us to start nipping that shite in the bud when they are 7-8 acting like the opposite sex, hanging out with their brothers and guy cousins a lil too much.

Sexual preference is as immutable as race, eye color, and height.
Kinsey disagreed.
But we only quote him when it favors us, on either side.
There's quite a bit of anecdotal evidence to support a mutable sexuality. Men who are married with kids and then come out in their 40s. Lesbians-until-graduation. STDs among lesbians are most often contracted through heterosexual sex. All kinds of stuff out there in studies if you get past the rhetoric.

Eh, the impression I got from reading things is that someone in the media was set to out him and he decided to do it on his own terms.
This would be correct from what I have been hearing as well. Its pretty sad to watch folks attack his character from multiple angles though.

You should read it. The Bible wasn't written in a week. It was written over hundreds of years..many laws and teachings were altered and struck down by Jesus in the New Testament, because they no longer applied.
People who point out this nitpicky stuff like eating pork are reaching for strawmen, because it was Old Testament stuff. Christians are following the teachings of Christ, which come from the New Testament. The Old Testament is mostly anecdotal.
The part about eating pork and catfish was a part of Mosaic law, enforced by Moses to his people. There were 600 laws of Mosaic law, and none apply to Christians because it was struck down by Jesus.
Except Jesus doesn't utter one word about being gay. Funny that.

Why isn't there tons of commentary about an athlete that either gets a divorce or has a child out of wedlock? same book says they're all sins.
This.
I am Christian...and I do believe homosexuality to be a sin. But many other activities, lifestyles, thoughts, etc are sins.
He may have less sin in his life than I do...I am not his judge. But in the same breath I can honestly say I believe homosexuality to be a sin.
Are my sins less sinful than homosexuality...not according to my understanding.
I do not view myself as intolerant or a bigot...but I do have my beliefs. That this is sinful behavior among a vast list of sinful behaviors that become more celebrated in our culture.
But he is still a person God loves.

But I know, I know...the truth is frowned upon in today's society. Do what makes you feel good, right?
What about the post above yours about the old testament being for Jews, and that Jesus struck that stuff down?

To the "why is this news" crowd: Read some of the disgustingly intolerant responses in this thread to know why its news. Takes a lot of guts to expose yourself to this amount of bigotry by dumbass strangers from across the country.

Yep, I blame the MTV, drugs, and taking Jesus out of the classrooms for all of this widespread sodomy

How many NFL football players have issued statements to the media coming out as straight? I couldn't care less one way or the other if he's gay or not, but this comes off as a cry for publicity and attention to me. Not acceptance.
Read about it. It was going to become public anyway. He decided to own the story and tell it himself instead of hide. He's already said he's not giving any additional interviews about it. He wants to play football, and focus on that. Not on his sexual orientation.

Because he's a star player who just came out in the media, unprovoked, and announced he likes his butt jimmies rustled by another dude? Maybe he should have just kept getting cornholed and say nothing? Do you announce you like to bang chicks?

I think you missed the KJV reference. But if you're doing NT reading and you're serious - you read it in greek.
