Siggy Freud would have a field day with some of you..

As it turns out, the facts show Columbia MO is the bigger town by area and a larger population. That is superior length and girth.

Columbia
Area: 60.23 sq miles (156 km²) Population: 113,225 (2012)

Fayetteville
Area: 43.44 sq miles (112.5 km²) Population: 76,899 (2012)

You have to pay attention when you leave Fay to Springdale to Rogers to Bentonville, it can all run together and seem like the same town depending on which route you take.

Have either of you been to NWA? Good luck telling where one city starts and another ends.

I have. If you're going to say the entire NW corner of the state is Fayetteville (and some of Missouri) that's fine. I just wanted to be clear what we're talking about.

I'm guessing each city in NWA has its own downtown and central district, so Fayetteville's downtown area is probably a bit smaller than Columbia's just based on Fayetteville just supporting F'ville itself in that downtown.

Pretty accurate?

Como = best. If you have to ask, you'll never know.

Sort of kind of, but not really.

As far as the bars, the rest of them were "dry" for a long time, the way Fayetteville was laid out, they never planned on it to be as big as it has become.

Drive down there. Bella Vista, Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville are all stacked right on top of each other. That is 260,000 people right there alone.

I literally can not believe the level of retardation coming from your keyboard.

Do you really think nothing is around CoMo? The state capitol is the same distance away as all these rogers and bentonvilles you speak of.. man you all are getting more pathetic by the day.

I've been to games in both places. Fayetteville is not as big as COMO, but Dickson Street is nice and I like the way the stadium is nestled in a valley IIFC. Overall, I think that you'll find COMO to be the better city with a bigger and better downtown district. Tailgating can be hit-or-miss at Mizzou though since it's so spread out. Mizzou's tailgating culture seems to be one of getting as drunk as possible before and after the game, with the game being secondary, while most schools in the SEC focus more on the game itself.

You'll have a great time at both, but Mizzou's fans might be more cordial than the Hogs fans.

I have been to both. Columbia is a lot smaller. There is a hell of a lot more traffic in NWA. You can drive through Columbia in a minute. NWA is like forty miles long from the Missouri border to the south of Fayetteville. That whole area is populated around the Interstate. It is just one sizable town after another.

Why is this Arky fan claiming every town within a 50-mile radius as Fayetteville? Very strange. No one in Missouri includes Jefferson City or the surrounding towns as part of Columbia. Arky fans continue to astound and amuse me.

No one is claiming Bella Vista is part of Fayetteville. Heck, Fayetteville is closer to Oklahoma than it is Missouri. In further mention whoever included that one county in Missouri is laughable. I couldn't tell you one single city located in that Missouri county.

Fifteen minutes from campus you can almost hit three different cities that alone is 200,000 and you wouldn't even know you left Fayetteville. It is completely different than twenty years ago when there was large farm land in between each.

So in summary Fayetteville is smaller than Como with a lower population. Both cities have other cities around the cities in question. Got it.

Each town had their own "Downtown" as we are talking about cities growing 50 years before the Civil War. Now, you'd just walk by Springdale or Rogers downtown because it's been surpassed by surrounding growth. Heck, without much signage you wouldn't even know it was the downtown area. Minus all the Confederate landmarks etc.

Fayetteville. You certainly know you are in the town and right off campus.

I can't tell you the name of towns, but can tell you once you cross over the road no longer turns to shite at least as far as the Joplin area, not sure if it is improved all the way to KC.

Good Job Mizzou.
