LSU had to make Blake Baker the highest paid assistant in the country by a WIDE margin to hire him, and yet was only able to do that because his wife made him take the job.

Never said that, but something is a bit off when you have to pay beyond elite money for a non elite coach whose wife was literally forcing him to take the job.

Why would I melt? We will undoubtedly upgrade with the money we have to spend. Baker is a good coach. He’s not great. We will now hire great, where we wouldn’t have earlier. This pretty much assures us a playoff spot next year.
