Georgia is lumped in with Mississippi and Alabama.
Georgia is home to Augusta National. That will always make it special in my eyes.
Even though Augusta is virtually Souf Cack and is inhabited by a bunch of Irish Traveler's in Murphy's Village.
The Master's makes up for a lot of blemishes

I'm of the unpopular opinion that Augusta has really gotten nicer the last 5 years and in 10 years is going to be a solid little Southern city. They are building all sorts of lofts and offices in their old warehouses, a new minor league stadium on the River, tons of stuff downtown on the river.
It's not a bad little spot anymore. And that whole Augusta National thing (which is so funny because it almost doesn't even feel like part of Augusta it's so closed off).

Have you ever dealt with the gypsies? There are some fascinating stories about Murphy's Village

I've never gotten up there before. I spend 1 week there each year (in Augusta, not Murphy Village) on business.
I do know the wild Irish Cant stories though.

Georgia actually recovered unlike the 3rd world conditions in the Mississippi Delta.
The Miss Delta has somehow succeeded in making a bombed out shithole interesting and unique.
Also, there's nothing like a sunrise on a cold morning while duck hunting in the Delta. Stirs the loins.

This is irrefutable

FIFY. I've driven down I-16 enough times to know that the only thing separating the 165 miles between Macon and Savannah and Mississippi are man made lines on a map.
Good lord have there ever been truer words typed on the internet? I don't think so. Vapid wasteland and makes me pray for teleportation every time I head back down to visit home.

The Revolutionary War was a civil war. There were native-born Americans on both sides. The "Civil War" was actually the second of such wars, as the country found within itself further striations.

Georgia is pretty awesome. You had that famous Carter that grew peanuts and did this country a good thing. Billy is his name.
Good beer.

Good beer.

Also great mountains, a beautiful coast and a beautiful old coastal city.
The parts of Georgia I've stomped in the hills are fantastic. Southern tip of the Appalachians. Way frickin better than Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana if you ask me.
Entirely different.
