It looks like Army, Hawaii, N. Texas and then Moo State are the final foursome. Army actually has 6 wins but only one of their two wins against an FCS team counts. Still, as a six win team they creep in before any of the APR teams.

All things considered, Mullen did a hell of a job with this team.
Seems like they were in just about every game this season despite replacing a great QB and having a defense that isn't near as good as it's been in recent years.

Mizzou was retarded for turning down a bowl at 5-7
15 extra practices with a young team >>> muh principles

The PAC 12 will not be able to fulfill all of their bids. State is likely going to take one of their bids. Probably Vegas.

I believe when it goes to 5-7 teams the schools pick the available bowl games.
Assuming there is no wheeling and dealing (C-USA and the American have traded bowl spots in the past) then the two available slots are the PAC 12 spot (not enough teams) in Vegas and the Big Ten (3 teams in NY6) spot in the Heart of Dallas.
North Texas gets the first pick and MSU gets the other.

And no, you don't seem to understand there is no room for State in a bowl game.
Haha if you have to be wrong, at least be obstinate.
Why wouldn't you want State in a bowl game? The only way it effects any other SEC school is more money in the conference bowl payout.
And anybody saying we shouldn't accept the invite is an idiot. An extra month of practice for a young team is invaluable.

frick the pseudo-dignity. An extra month of practices would do you guys wonders. I wish our APR was better last year to make it.
Haters gonna hate.

You're an idiot. You reward the players who worked their arse off all year and get those extra practices.

Exactly.
The problem is that there are 40 bowls when there should be 15 or less.
When you have 128 teams, there is a less than 10 percent chance that 80 win six games. So there will always be room for 5-7 teams. This "dignity" crap is great to throw around when you win 8 or more games, but there were many years that teams went 7-4 and 8-3 and stayed home.
This is how the bowls would look in my perfect world
15 bowl games. 30 teams
6 New Years 6 games (11 teams + Highest Group of 5 Champion)
Remaining Group of 5 Champions (4 teams)
Top Remaining 14 teams
Period.
Tier 1 Games (New Years 6)
Peach
Cotton
Rose
Fiesta
Orange
Sugar
Tier 2 Games (hosted by P5 conference)
Citrus (SEC)
Holiday (Pac 12)
Alamo (Big 12)
Belk (ACC)
Pinstripe (Big 10)
Tier 3 Bowls
Foster Farms
Texas
Sun
Outback

quote:It would be embarrassing and the extra practice time with the current coaching staff would be way over rated. Maybe a sports' psychologist for Graves would help but as long as the current defensive staff is there and Hevesy is there, extra practice will not help next year's team in the least.
5-7 bowl game is embarrassing but it's just down right stupid to turn down an extra month of practice.

So only a handful of G5 schools get to play in bowls? There should be less, but that idea sucks

Word is it's the Armed Forces Bowl in Ft. Worth December 23rd vs. Navy.
Perfect opportunity to stay and watch Dak roll the lions on the day after Christmas for state fans.
Oh, and a great opportunity to start grooming our next Dak (Kayteon Thompson) since early enrollees can practice in bowl practices.

I don't mind the extra bowl games. It's one last chance to see more football before the off-season.
And you get to see more evenly matched OOC matchups that might not happen otherwise.

It's funny.
The same people who bitch about these extra games are the same people who tune in.
