Its a lazy Saturday and I'm bored.

Is it wrong to get excited about basketball season in July?

I've got some new footage of Mareks Majeris. He has highlights 5 through 1.

It is when you know no matter how many mysterious Euros Stansbury brings in, he'll still manage to "almost" win the SEC and max out in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament.

But I will say- if Stands cant do it this year, he is never going to- this is his big chance

We'll be stacked with talent though. If Stans is going to do much, he has to have a team that is grossly more talented than his opponents.

With the Euro dude, we'll be the most talented MSU Basketball team I remember.

The kicker for you all is that 'Bama is on the rise as well.

Stansbury had a pretty talented team before all the transfers with the Delk twins class (looking back, that '05 recruiting class was pretty solid) and what was on the roster already. He still didn't do much with that bunch either.

I'm just inclined to not believe it until I see it. And Stansbury has never made it past the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.

I really believe you want our basketball team to do bad so Stansbury will get fired

I truly believe that Scott Stricklin's meeting with Stans this past spring really revitalized him and with three possible first round picks we should have a great season.

Even Coonass will agree that we are doing a better job recruiting and beefing up our schedule.

Absolutely not true. I just have no confidence in his ability to coach talented teams - he sure hasn't in the past.

2004 team was a Top 10 team in the country and rolled through the SEC

Until surprise surprise we blew our load in the NCAA

True, but they didn't have the talent that this year's team has.

2004 had Lawrence Roberts, Brandon Vincent, Timmy Bowers, Shane Power, Winsome Frazier, and Marcus Campbell.

The 2003-2004 team had great team chemistry and some hard nosed players who knew how to get the job done. They weren't called the Road Warriors for nothing.

2011-12 has Dee Bost, Renardo Sidney, Arnett Moultrie, Rodney Hood, Deville Smith, Jalen Steele, and possibaly Mareks Majeris.

This team will be by far the most talented we have had since that team, chemistry will be the issue

I am interested to see what Stans does with the 1 and 2 position and if he can control Twinkie and Dee's shot selection

I think it made it finally sink in that people aren't happy with him. I have never been happy with him. The most important thing that came out of it was the new strength and conditioning. It's an absolute joke that it had to come to that.

I do too. But Standz getting a little pep in his step isn't gonna make him all of a sudden know how to coach offense or make players listen to him. It's sad. We'll never reach our potential this year. That doesn't mean we won't have a decent season. We could have a great season, but we'll never reach our potential until we have a real coach instructing our players. I don't know of another coach that would come to state and get the same type of players though. But I could think of some that could come in and teach our players how to play the game. It's a tough situation. I just don't understand how a division one basketball coach can be so clueless.

Wait until you see Arnett Moultrie, you will be very impressed.

Freshman Devile Smith will play a lot at the 1 and dont be surprised to see Rodney Hood handling the ball a lot, he is a similar type player to Jalen Rose who played at Michigan for the Fab 5. Also we have Bryant and Steele who will get minutes at the 1 and 2

Dee at the 2 scares me

I am afraid if he plays the 2 every time he touches the ball a shot will go up

I think we will be vastly improved just by subtracting Ravern Johnson and have someone competent to give minutes on the block other than the Sudanese Nightmare
