Ole Miss went 7-4 in 2001 and didn't get invited to a bowl at all, so consider yourself lucky

Indy bowl took a 6-6 Bama which we beat.

but we had the answer - win more games!

Exactly, the outback usually takes an east team, Tennessee will sell more tickets to the Gator bowl, Arkansas is looking at Sugar/Capitol one, LSU is looking at Cotton, Bama at Capitol one.

Carolina had a better record and is apparently a favorite of the peach bowl.

So really all it comes down to is you were not an attractive team for the upper tier bowls...

We beat 8 teams this year including 4 from the SEC one of whom is Florida who is getting a FAR better bowl than we are.

5th place finishers in the west traditionally do not go to upper tier bowls...

Bowls are private organizations who need to turn a profit or at least break even. Florida in the Gator bowl does that. MS St does not. Most fans outside of the SEC couldn't name a single player on State's team.

I cant name a player on Florida's team this year.

Do you guys really think that the Florida fan base will be gobbling up bowl tickets like crazy this year after a 7-5 season. They can finish 7-6 with a loss.

Hell the Outback picked Northwestern last year, who could named a player on their team????

MSU has preorders for more tickets than we would get from the Gator, Outback, or Peach. So your argument is a bust.

I told some big bottle arse Wrangler wearing hick sitting below us in the south end that I would shove that cow bell up his arse if he picked it up. He gave me a toothless grin and left it in his fat arse ole lady's purse the whole game.

Thanks you for posting this. MSU filled up their 55,000 seat stadium all season. Look around the country and there are many schools going to better bowls that didn't average what State did. Now, you guys are very excited about going to a bowl and the good season (with even better things on the horizon if Mullen stays). You should at the very least be in the Peach. This bit about those East teams going to New Years Day bowls that pay out more is bullshite.

No, it's just that the Outback Bowl ends up doing something insane every year.

Like picking Auburn over Tennessee last year.

This is Mike Hamilton (UT AD) learning his lesson from getting screwed out of the Outback last year by Auburn making guarantees to sell out.

I agree with you but unfortunately college football has become about money and bowl games are really about money. They will try to choose a team that will travel well and spend a lot of money in their city. It's pathetic but money is what runs everything in this country.

The bowl games are nothing more than a massive scam to steal money from universities and taxpayers to line the pockets of the good 'ol boys who run them. Florida does not deserve to go to any decent bowl, but that has little to do with what actually happens.

The Gator Bowl either

A) Hates snitches
B) Already knows that Mullen is headed elsewhere

You better hope that if this happens, UGA does not cut a deal with the Music City and leave you all in Memphis for the Liberty.
