This didn’t happen overnight. We brought in Coach Leach, who never was known as a recruiter. After his passing, we promoted within and now the ripples have turned into waves. We have had lineman and db’s that are in the NFL now, but have not continued to restock the roster with that kind of talent in the last 3 years and it shows. We haven’t hit the bottom yet. Tennessee could hang 75 on us without much effort. Somehow we have to recruit a higher level of talent through high school or the portal.

Well Greazy since this is your first post, we've had 3 HC's in 3 years. That's about the easiest way to explain the suckage.

Just really worried how the loss to Toledo will affect our rankings.

Their coach passed away. It’s gonna take time.

State used to dominate the juco recruiting and every once in a while would have a solid senior laden team that would give people fits.

The year they’re having this year should’ve been last year but they kicked the can a year by going w Arnett. Didn’t help their AD left the month before Leach died so the interim AD was the one stuck making the call.

They went really cheap and it burned them.

Leach built an air raid team.

Leach dies. Now the team is like having a 6 speed sports car with nothing but women to drive it. It’s a team with no one that can run it.

Off-season recruiting shot. Lost bowl game even though opposing team had negative yards rushing.

No AD in place prior to leach dying. President makes call on promoting DC.

Arnett is a deer in the headlights trying to put a square peg in round hole. Knows he is gone at end of year. Doesn’t recruit. 55th or so ranked class when he is booted.

Lebby hired and has to get the mid January scraps in the portal.

2024 MSU hits the field with mostly new players and a new staff.

The cumulation of the past three years has resulted in basically starting a team over from scratch.

So yea…. We got a few issues.

So how do the fans feel about Lebby’s ability to pull it together over some time?

Serious question, would y’all have been against bringing back Mullen? Y’all were loaded with him on a few different occasions.

State fired Joe Moorhead after 2 seasons post Mullen to try to offset our Kiffin hire with Leach. If I remember right he was doing pretty good. I think 8-5 and 7-5 and two Egg Bowl victories.

They spazzed. Should have let Moorhead do his thing.

It’s all caught up with them all for trying to offset our Kiffin hire.

A quite a bit concerned but not jumping off the stadium yet. The major concern is adjustments.. the lack of going 4 down in the ASU game to stop the run and the front to back WTF Saturday.

It doesn’t matter the fan’s thoughts at this time. Lebby has 3 years unless the program is next to dissolving. Can’t legitimately fire another coach without giving time.

Aren’t you playing Florida this week?

Someone is losing that game.

Probably 70 would have been for…. 30 against. But all indications is that Mullen is fat, dumb, and happy with cash and likes his ESPN job better than coaching.

You are not remembering correctly. He squandered a very good 2018 team and had completely lost the team at the end of the 2019 year. Locker room fights, fights after games, etc.

Still has the play calling part, I don’t think he has the personal touch to do it in the modern era.

New coach and complete rebuild. Were you expecting a miracle?

It would be foolish to speculate. First year head coach under these circumstances. All I can say with certainty is, if I were Lebby, I would have done what ever it took to hire a veteran defensive coordinator with proven results, even if I had to give up some of my salary to do it. Having said that, a big part of the problem is no doubt the roster. This is the worst defense I can remember and I’ve been a State fan since the ‘80’s.

Would y'all ever bring Mullen back or is that bridge burned?
