So now that we are finding pitching (especially on Sunday which we didn’t have 90% of the season) what are our chances? I had no idea we led the conference in hitting. I knew it was towards the top but damn.

Just my two cents but I’ve always liked team OBP and slugging percentage as a better metric for offensive production. Batting average can be misleading. That’s said obviously MSST is playing great baseball.

I think we have two really good pitchers and a few guys from our bullpen have really gotten good. Not saying we will win it all but I like this team. And who can go wrong with Jake Mangum leading off.

It puzzles me why he went so low in the draft last year unless he made it clear he was returning for his SR year.

By the way, if not for the fact we have tradition in baseball, we have stolen some very good players out of Alabama. I guess the same happens with Bama football, we always lose some top players to you guys.

I'm pretty sure you guys lead the league in hitting during our weekend series... not sure that mattered all too much.

MSU (5th), Vanderbilt (7th) and Arkansas (10th) are all in the top-10 nationally for batting average. The next SEC team is Florida at 49th.

Sheesh. South Carolina is #283 out of 297 teams. Somebody needs to be fired.
