Your take is overrated. Washington State was a dump of a program before he got there. You can say the same for Texas Tech and he has had them both in the top 10 at one time. You can't view all coaches through the same lens. You have to factor in the school.

UGA’s overall winning % is .655
Leach’s overall winning % is .607
If Leach is overrated then UGA is not much better. Yes 5% better but not an overwhelming difference.
So can we conclude that UGA is overrated too based on your opinion?

Well when you look at the teams each is playing, the 5% difference is larger than the statistic shows.

On the flip side, Leach had them bowl eligible for the last 5 consecutive seasons.
Number of coaches that did that at WSU since the end of WW2:

If you expect a title he is not your guy. If you expect a consistently respectable product that pulls a really good year every so often there aren’t many that have his track record.

Mike Leach was running a spread offense years before everyone else. He was winning consistently at TT with 2&3 star players and developing qbs year after year. A lot of the people on talking bs; were saying the same thing about Coach O. I curious to see watch he can do in MSU with good recruiting. The man can coach
