The screen (sic) game sucked in the Bama defense and we got over and around them. Bobo stretched them out in every direction. It was a master class.

Lowest points for sure of the season but honestly we could have hung 30 on them

What's weird is that we only put 20 points on the board but I never felt like the offense was struggling. Then in other games we score 42 and it feels like nothing went right.

Same, only punted twice, averaged like 8 yards per play.

Field position and penalties hurt us some I guess but I would love to play those frickers again.

Was watching Brooks Austin break it down and that backside cut was open all night due to TE movement apparently. They never adjusted. Nice thing is, if the next time we play they do adjust, there is a simple answer to put them in conflict again.

I’ll still blame him for everything until he drops all wr screens from the playbook

Screens serve the purpose of running the other team dline and lbackers to death... it helps make the run game work as they dline wears down from all the lateral running.

To point out the obvious, the goal is positive yardage. Alabama sniffed out those screens and blew them up. After the first time, Bobo should have figured that out.

How many screens did we run?

How many plays had screens setup on the backside that we went opposite to?

Screens also serve the purpose of wasting a down and getting negative yardage

Stretches the defense away from the middle of the field and makes them protect every blade of grass on the field... basically sacrificial downs that cause movement in indirect ways as the game progresses....

Monken's screens I thought were more productive, but let's be honest, he had Bowers to throw them to.

Bowers, McConkey, and McIntosh were an elite trio for Monken to play with.

What McIntosh did always gets overlooked.
I love it when we get the running backs involved in the passing game. Even if it is screens.

This is where losing Chauncey hurts, imo. He is great out wide in Millenial Oklahoma drills.

Older I get, the more it really is players making plays that make the coach.

That was the secret sauce for Monken, honestly.

You can call the right play and not have it executed. It is the coach's fault. Not the players.

Monken was hated. That doesnt get talked about. He was hated because he demanded perfection from 17-24 year olds.

Hell, we should have won Saturday's game by 3 tds.... Bama still has the culture that they will beat us.... it's just not starting to sink in that things are changing but they made it more of a game than it should of been because of mentality.

As he should. Most of them have been playing the game for a while. A coach's failing is not being understanding and patient when they sometimes fall short.

However, those 17-24 year-olds are now highly paid, so they will need to perform like it.

Bobo did call a good game, but 20 points ain't gonna cut it next go round or in the playoffs

he called the game he needed to call for us to get the win. We put up 34 on them 2 years ago by slinging it and chucking it all over the field. We still lost. We took a couple shots down field, got timely runs, and were hella efficient on 3rd down. We "ran the damn ball bobo" and we didn't thorw many screens, and all of this was without our top 3 RBs and one of our top WRs.

We can always, always, always say we coulda shoulda scored more points, that's just human nature as a fan. But man it's hard to find a single thing to grip about with bobo when it comes to saturday.

Oh, and even after playing OU and bama, 2 of the better defenses in the conference, we are STILL leading all of america in points scored.
