You ever seen Peyton Manning try to run? His lack of speed isn't why he won't be a taken that high.

There is a long list of "winners" at the QB position that didn't do jack in the pros. In fact, I would wager that the majority of starting QBs in the NFL right now were not winners at the college level

Some people can't grasp this. If you look at NFL rosters, you see a whole bunch of athletes from the likes of Fresno St., Hofstra, Fordham, Idaho State, etc.

Winning in college means nothing in the NFL.

Like Greg McElroy and Ken Dorsey right? How'd those "winners" do in the league. Hell John Parker Wilson (who is actually better than McElroy) had an undefeated regular season under saban.

You do realize every QB on that list, except maybe Mett, would have a record equal to AJ playing for alabama right?

Sick burn bro. I totally overlooked the stellar pro careers of all those "winners".

I was talking about your little shot at Mett. I also just couldn't resist the juvenile comeback. sorry.

I think Mett goes first, then JFF, AJ then Murray.
Metts measurables are going to wow the pro scouts...he has shown great accuracy this year and his decision making is not terrible and can be improved. His size, height and arm strength are going to be the deciding factor. His off field stuff is one "minor" incident that won't hurt his stock.
I don't know if he will be a good pro but he has the best potential of all QBs in this draft.

Murray is the best passer of the bunch. I have seen him throw into windows that the other three couldn't. I think his knee injury will not hurt him that much.

Mett, McCarron, Murray, JFF draft order

Falcons will not pick a QB.

McCarron is probably the most game ready, but Mett has the most upside.

Manziel is electric.

Murray coming off surgery and does not have prototypicsl size, but neither does Brees.

My guess:
1. Manziel
2. MCCarron
3. Mett
4. Murray

+1
Murray before the injury may have been taken above all of them. Now I think they'll all be taken close to each other, though they each have different skill sets.

What will worry the Scouts is how McCarron acts under pressure. He has had plenty of time to throw against most of his opponents, but when he is under pressure he is not very accurate.

It wasn't a shot, he simply doesn't have the resume the other QBs have. He's been vastly better this year than last but he was very average last year whereas the others have produced on a high level for multiple years.

What? Have you seen his stats against the blitz?

quote:

"We've seen him in big games against LSU, make throws; 19 touchdowns this year and 13 against the blitz," NFL.com's Bucky Brooks told NFL.com's Dave Dameshek

That was 4 TD's ago. Not sure what the stat is now.

You've never seen his stats against the blitz. The inability to you guys to give McCarron any credit is sickening. It has to be because it doesn't fit your narrative.

Just because a team Blitz, does not mean they get pressure. How he throws downfield when he has players hanging on him will determine his success in the Pros. Of those blitzing TDs, how many were dumps to the RB or TE?

I've stated multiple times he's a perfect fit for bama's offense. He is a fine QB.

However, when he starts getting mentioned as a Heisman contender or especially when people throw out the "he's a winner" bs is what I can't handle. If you put Aaron Murray or Manziel or probably even Mett on alabama everyone of those QBs would have the same, and probably better, record as AJ does. Again, John Parker Wilson was the QB of a team with perfect regular season and Greg freaking McElroy went 14-0 as the quarterback of alabama and AJ's teams have probably all been better those those bama teams. Point is, it's not that hard to be a "winner" when you play for alabama.

People who still think this haven't watched him play this year. The dude has done nothing but ball out in big moments this year. It's too bad his defense blows and all his weapons were injured for a big chunk of the season.
