The one good thing about it is that when that all started (with Sam Ehlinger)... You beat an SEC team "that didn't wanna be there"...

I was watching the History of the SEC and Sylvester Croom was talking about the 1972 season when Auburn upset Alabama... Then Texas beat them in the Cotton Bowl... Croom actually said that. "Bama didn't wanna be there". So I guess SEC teams "didn't want to be there" all the way back in the 1970s... I always thought that was a later phenomenon.

That’s a pretty shitty list. As the OU poster said, I think it’s UT-A #1 by a pretty wide margin in the SEC.
I would actually put OM pretty high on the list as well. Rebs: I come in peace! Have always liked my visits to Oxford and appreciate the school. But man, there were a LOT of posts lecturing us on how the times had changed such that Lane would not leave OM for a “traditional/recent” powerhouse.
I think UGA historically belongs on the list as well but it’s hard to put a school with a couple of recent titles here.
Auburn is so battered right now i wouldn’t put them Top 10 but they do have a very specific and consistent type of delusion which leads them to a cult-like belief that they somehow are above the dirtiness of the SEC….when all evidence strongly suggests otherwise.

the media doesnt think it's texas because for some reason they are also equally delusional about texas as their fanbase is for some reason
for me, tennessee should be #1. auburn has never been remotely as annoying as tennessee plus they've actually won something. surprised to see them higher than the vols.

How wild is it that Notre Dame has never actually won a championship on the field yet Indiana has?

This is a fair and interesting take. The media does seem to be consistently delusional about UT-A. Exact same issue with ND, who poster brings up below. ND is probably the clear-cut answer nationally, but I was focused on the conference.
