That Penn St touchdown run was a thing of legend.

Memphis has quietly, or not so quietly if you are unfortunate enough to play them, been building a hell of a program. Even a loss here won't be the end of the world for them.

They've settled into a good niche. There is good talent in Memphis (spread out among the many high schools) and they are able to poach freely from rest of the Mid-South area. The only thing they have working against them really is that Memphis is only so-so when it comes to supporting the home town in football.

It is more of an SEC town then the local school town.

He was saying 10-7. Nice response, Tigers. They are hanging, so far.

Speed kills!
I don't hate PSU, but I can not stand James Franklin.
Go Tigers!

Silverfield will be a great hire in 3 years after the Browns take Moorhead off our hands.

I was born and raised here and I’ve seen that needle move more this year than ever before. They actually sold out the Liberty Bowl without an SEC team to play when Gameday came to Memphis. They put over 40k in the building on Black Friday to play Cincy.

It’s taken a long time because how bad things were, but they have real traction now and are playing enough games that mean something to keep fans interested. Hopefully Silverfield can keep the program’s momentum going.

I never will forget when Tommy West was fired in his exit interview he said something along the lines of "if you want to have a program, put money into it, show up and support it. Otherwise shut it down". They took his advice it looks like because if there was a coach that loved Memphis, it was West

Agree. I watched that presser....West didn't leave any bullets in the chamber. He fired them all and then reloaded. I've never seen anything like it, usually when a coach is fired you never get to see them have a firing press conference. West made the most of it.

Just looked it up and watched it. There aren't many men like Tommy West in this world. That takes balls to get up there and say that. I think that is when the program turned around

I mean Memphis struggled twice at home to beat a team OSU beat 42-0. PSU is starting to establish the LOS in the game now (all 2nd quarter so far). We will see if Memphis can stay in it or not
