That is a beautiful animal.
He looks like he can breathe without snoring.
He looks like he can stand up without passing out.
He looks like he does not need a bag of ice to keep from having heat stroke in 75 degree weather.
He just looks healthy compared with other dog mascots.

I enjoy the live mascots, and everyone loves a puppy. Looks like Smokey XI still needs to grow into those giant floppy ears though
It's hard to beat the baby pics of Arkansas' current mascot, Tusk V though
Hard to believe that cute little thing now looks like this beast that would kill you in a second if it had its tusks

Tennessee having a dog mascot is fricking stupid. Their mascot should be Davy Crockett.

I raised and hunted with blue ticks. Best dog I named Spook. No coon could escape them. They were awesome. Great times!!

In 1953, the original Smokey mascot was nominated during halftime of a UT football game against Mississippi State. The UT Pep Club organized a contest to select a coonhound as the mascot, and Rev. W.C. “Bill” Brooks entered his prize-winning bluetick coonhound “Blue Smokey,” according to UT’s history website.
