We don't spread diseases. That's too slow. We just drive by that arse and it pops off like the 4th of July.

Silliness.

I could see him helping out someone for free during spring training or fall practice, maybe even a small school, working with defensive backs, just to get back on the field and have a little fun doing some actual coaching. But he ain’t running a major program again, not in the NIL era. No way.

He'll only go where he has a built-in advantage. Texas? Ohio State? Not hiring.

Second report I’ve heard of this. The first report I heard was from George Wrisher (?) from the west coast. I think it has legs.

exactly. People thinking he'd take a P5 job have lost their minds.

Saban is old school. Down and dirty west virginia tough. The vast majority of his coaching career was recruiting tough football players, developing them, and having them kick the arse of the man in front of them. Nowadays you get maybe a dozen guys that you recruit from HS stick around their whole career instead of bolting, and this current generation of kids is the softest yet.

If he does return, and that's a gigantically large IF, I can see it being at like a D2 school or something where NIL and transfer portal don't really come into play.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d be very very surprised if Saban takes a college job again. And in the unlikely event that he did take a college job, I definitely don’t think it would be in the SEC.

Yeah, that would be unprecedented...

It will definitely not be as head coach of Bama. Deboer has a $70,000,000 buyout right now. Bama doesn't have that. No school would pay that amount besides maybe TAMU lol.

That won't happen as the greatest coach in college football history would never, ever take a D2 job. My opinion is that Saban would rather deal with NIL and the stress that comes with it, but coach at a program that has resources to win a Nati, than coach D2. FCS or D2 has 0 eyeballs on it besides FCS Nati when South Dakota St and North Dakota St play each other. Just far too below him.

Coaching at a D2 school would not feed his ego, and believe whatever you want, but that's what it's about for him. "Helping the players" is a distant second. He would potentially be the first college football coach to win a national championship at three different schools. IF he chooses to coach again, that would be the reason, and he would only go somewhere that would give him the means to do that.

He should go win a state championship at a highschool somewhere just for fun and a Netflix payout.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to coach at a 3rd college to win a Nati. I mean that is what every coach wants, a nati to fuel his ego. There's nothing bad in that.

I didn't say there was, but anyone who thinks he's going back to D2 or high school for love of the game is fooling himself. It wouldn't be about money for him at this stage. He's made more money than he can ever spend, and his family is set for life. But he's out of the limelight now, and you know it's eating at him.

Would love to see him at Army or Navy. No NIL, no bullshite. Just teaching young men how to play the game.

Speculation has been that he’d be interested in UWV, his home state school.
