I’m not a McAfee fan.

On the surface the video seems playful, but I can see why it troubled him.

It’s posted from the University’s page. Students indirectly accused him of being a creeper (see the comments asking him to leave his shirt on because they’re college students).

He was there to promote their program and they trashed him.

"Please come promote our university. But, don't do it the way you've been doing it. Change just for us."

Exactly.

Only a fool would laugh those comments off in this current culture.

This just in: He is creepy and corny. Young college students don't want to see an old guy take his shirt off to try to be cool.

You’d have to be the most insecure person on the planet to be troubled by anything that was said in that video he referenced. He has zero shame but he should feel completely embarrassed not just at his own reaction but at trying to say it was a similar vibes to the Kirk assassination

Then why ask him to show up?

I agree the Kirk comparison was over the top.

Because he is just one part of Gameday. They didn’t specifically invite only him. They also probably didn’t expect the guy who adopts a full-blown WWE persona on -air to get his feelings hurt over some light jabs

You think the college students asked McAfee to show up?

Initially I couldn’t stand this douchebag. I don’t mind him now. He still does some very douchey shite but he’s also pretty good when he’s not being a douche.

I don't think anyone sent him a personal invitation. Let's not conflate a little criticism with promoting violence. I love it when people are totally inappropriate and then have an over the top reaction to criticism.

He came to Utah, Utah didn't come to him. I get that he doen't like their politics, but he can frick off if he can't handle a little criticism.

Utah: "Keep your shirt on, creepy old man."

McAfee: "Why would you threaten me like this?"

Gimme a break.

I think McAfee is fine and think he is pretty good at what he does.

His role on College Gameday is hype man / entertainment mixed with a little football talk. He digs into and learns the local team’s traditions/cheers every week and the crowd loves it.

They have Saban / Herbstreit for the traditional buttoned up “serious” talk.

People say they “just want serious football talk without all the antics” but honestly that would be boring as shite on a live set at a college campus.

Also I have caught some of McAfee’s interviews on his actual show and he was surprisingly good at getting the interviewee to open up and just have a real conversation.

Anyway, the hate he gets is kind of overblown. And Univ of Utah shouldn’t pile on if they did. He is bringing money and attention to their program.

There are shirtless men at every game who get loads of camera time. It’s never been considered inappropriate or creepy.

The kid and I were there for both the BYU and UofU gameday. VERY different feel for the two shows. I didn't know what was going on last Saturday, but Pat was WAY different in his demeanor at the two events. In provo he was hamming it up with the fans during the breaks. By the end the BYU crowd was chanting "Brother Pat, Brother Pat".

None of that last Saturday. And I can't say that I blame him. This place is the only social media I have so that stuff is like a whole other universe to be, but if the reports are true, he has a real beef with them. Whomever runs the U's insta account should be fired. It could likely mean the U doesn't get another gameday for a long, long time. There's a real impact to that.

Just my $0.02.

Makes me wonder if stuff happened he hasn’t made public.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say somebody that spent all of middle school in a locker runs the IG account.
