The linked post pretty much nails my feelings on how that play went down. The biggest thing I took away from it was the balls to the wall effort put out by the entire return team. Those guys hustled like no special teams unit I've seen wearing Crimson in quite a while. That hustle made me come away from this game with a really good feeling about this team.

Damn, I didn't see this one. I actually have to agree.

very nice run by maze...his last cutback was stupid though.

Yep. Agree 100%. He had a clear route to the endzone...don't come back to traffic.

Richardson made an error like this too on a run...if he had stayed outside there was one man to beat, and he had a blocker out there...and he inexplicably cut it back inside where the Hog help was at.

Little nitpicky things like that are all that I can complain about from Saturday...

I saw the Richardson move as well, and if you and I saw it, I'm sure he's having to endure it in the tape room. That still was a pretty good run, but probably could have scored.

Maze is quickly becoming a very well rounded WR. He blocks well, runs well, catches practically everything. He has really stepped up his game with Julio gone IMO.

Maze has always been good. He's got great hands.

damn that was nice...shocking there was no block in the back penalty (not that I saw one...just surprised considering how he cut all over the field)

Having seen that I now switch my "player from another team you wish you had" from Richardson to Maze.

Maze vs 11 guys > Bumphis vs 10 guys

Some guy from LA Tech is on all fours at the 50. I think Bumphis might have waved to him on his way by.

Still though, great run by both.

Yeah, maybe...but here's what I feel even better about: You know what happens to freshman and sophomores who bust their asses on special teams, right? (See Mark Barron, 2008)

I don't think that was a penalty, because he was engaged with that Arkansas defender face to face previously.
However, follow #10 from that point, down the field and it's a clear block in the back on #75 -circled left in the photo below.

(:13 on the video, just as the cut is being made)
It's much more obvious in the video than in the still photo.

How was that a block in the back? He hit him from the side. Good luck ever getting a ref to call that.
