I do watch your games. I haven't seen Maurer do anything to suggest he's ready to make a difference between winning and losing. Your best bet for this weekend is better defensive play. Or give Shrout a chance.

He’s gonna throw some picks but the main advantage imo is it doesn’t look like he’s running in sand and he gets rid of the ball a lot quicker. I’ll take some freshman mistakes and he gives VOLS best chance to win.
I wish Cheetos Jim would just put J Jennings at QB until Maurer can play again.

Tennessee would have won last year if it wasn't for the refs favoring South Carolina.

Unfortunately for him, he didn't audible. The team ran the play as called, he just went rogue and did his own thing. If he starts Saturday or if they start the freshman will be interesting to see.

Guarantano is getting tons of grief thanks to the fumble and subsequent face mask grab by Pruitt, but nobody in orange was scoring on that play whether the QB went rogue or not.
Here's the UT offensive alignment right when the ball was snapped. It hasn't even made it to the QB's hands yet.
They literally didn't have a player lined up in the left guard position. Shane Lee (35) has a completely unobstructed shot directly at the QB and RB. If he turns to hand it off, Lee blows it up at the 3 or so and Bama takes over on downs.
The real questions are why in the world did the UT O-line align this way to begin with and then why didn't ANYONE in orange call timeout.

Water under the bridge now but watch the video. Not one soul puts so much as a hand on 35 or 15. They go straight through the uncovered gap. If he tries to hand off he never makes it to the back.

I’ve watched a good bit of Tenn football lately. Maurer definitely has an intangible that Gitmo doesn’t. Tenn is not a terrible football team, and I think Pruitt has things trending in the right direction.
I’ve also been impressed with SC lately. That defense is legit.
As a State fan, lemme say there are different ways to be 3-4 or 3-5 or whatever. I’d rather be y’all.
