Everything is cyclic, I think, in football. In a lot of ways, I think Matt House is traditional, regarding the 3-4.

The 4-3 defense was always predicated on the notion that two DTs could hold the interior line, unless the offense committed extra assets ... and two DE's could set the edge, again against a base alignment. And - 5 OLs vs 4 DLs wasn't that much of a stretch to expect that.

The 3-4 told us, in the beginning, to not worry about that one less DL ... because of all that pressure that could come - from any angle - with all those extra lanes from that alignment.

Matt House plays the 3-4 from that original idea of LB pressure - instead of this modern idea of dropping everything back. Again, I'm biased, but I like how he does it better than Brad White.

I think LSU will like it as well, with the natural quickness they tend to recruit.

That’s the typical “Pretty much whomever LSU hired, they’d still be our daddy” gif!!

So that's how you spell "John Chavis".

That was such a lil bro move to steal chavis and then see him get pummeled by LSU. Classic Aggy

As I recall - traditional 3-4. Don't recall seeing the OLB put a hand in the dirt much.
You don't remember Josh Allen? Although he did both

Why did Stoops get rid of him or what happened? You don’t go from being a DC in the SEC to LB coach in the pros.

Stoops didn't get rid of him. He went to the NFL. Word was he didn't like recruiting aspect. Or that's what I heard not sure how true it is.

The Rant's new theme, any coach that LSU hires hates recruiting. LOL

Thanks.

I was curious cause something’s off for a person to go from SEC DC to LB coach in the NFL. That’s a step down.

Oh thank God, finally A list coaches and not retreads and wanna- be’s. I can’t take this level of competent hiring.
