Auburn played the equivalent of the SECRant Internet user all star team, settle down.

You couldn’t complete 24 of 28 against air. Give that boy his props.

I just meant most QBs in general.

Apparently your “fools gold” label applies to your “facts” instead of OU. Knew you wouldn’t back your post. Very Sidewalk of you.

UM was 8-5 last year and is starting a true freshman at QB. OU is fools gold.
Your glorified RB at QB is fools gold. Just wait.

I can agree with this but he did have a really really nice touch pass over a defender to his RB last night that was elite awareness and touch.
I like what I see from Mateer and believe this year’s RRR is going to be a fun one and I really don’t want Mateer having the ball last.
He’s a gamer like Gabriel but man is he shifty and durable. If he can stay healthy all year I think he’ll at the very least be in New York for the ceremony.

Michigan beat New Mexico 34-17. Which is about the same point difference that they beat Nevada last year.
Personally I think Underwood will be a step up at QB compared to last year, but the rest of the team is still a mystery.

Then why is he behind Arnold in QB rating?

lol Michigan will lose 4-6 games this year.
Mateer is solid but he should have had 3-4 INTs last night. He has some risky throws that I’m curious what a solid secondary will do.
Also, people giving Auburn crap for beating up on a bad team yet Mateer was the Heisman favorite last week after beating FCS Illinois State

Last year Jackson Arnold was 17-25 for 4 TDs in a 51-3 romp vs Temple in game 1 with a168 QBR and we all thought he was it. Then once he played any team with a pulse he folded. Tenn was our first SEC game and we all know how he did.
At least Mateer played a pedigree team with very physical LOS and prevailed. If not for special teams its an actual blowout.

Mateer may be the best but it really chaps my arse when the press anoints one fellow this early in the season. It gives that person an unwarranted advantage when you see his mug plastered all over every station even in unrelated games.

I don't know how much that applies, speaking big picture.
Those 2 teams last night had scary talent in the trenches. With Michigan on offense, probably 3-4 NFL draft picks. 3-4 OU defensive tackles will be high round draft picks.
That was 2 teams of big boy, smash mouth football. Not saying ya'll don't have it too, but I'm thinking Michigan and OU are probably top 10 teams right now. It probably won't take but 2-3 more games for Underwood to become a stud.

He does take risks that are prone to interceptions, but thats offset in my mind because I dont mind our defense being on the field....they were moving fast, good coverage and hitting hard....one busted play last night was all I saw. Special teams however.....

No argument here. Sooners look solid. Hope they whip Texas.

I don’t know why OU fans are rooting for failure so bad on Arnold. He’s a great kid that needed a fresh start. He does look better this year.
Why do yall care so much if he turns out to be good?

Because Baylor’s defense gives up what, 45 points to SMU while Michigan has been a top defensive team for almost a decade now. I knew AU bball fans were ignorant, but I guess Freeze and Harsin have done a number on their football fans too. Looks like 4 straight losing seasons causes fans to become football illiterate, or maybe it’s just AU fans.

No way. Michigan is overrated. We’d pound them.

OU can get to that level. No way is UM close to top 10.
