anybody think he can have a similar impact to laremy tunsil as a truefrosh?

the fact that he is looking good enough to push mason halter into guard is big news and gives us the best possible starting 5

all those doom and gloom reports on the gator ol might turn out to be over exaggerated quite a bit

they could still turn out to be true also but either way this is the best possible scenario a gator fan could of hoped for

He was going to be a starter no matter what. He's going to be needed at some position. Florida needs to put their best 5 out there.

mason halter was an fcs first team all american grad transfer(i know fcs lol) who's played alot of football so it wasnt really set in stone

i do agree he would of been in the rotation no matter what

we'll see how he he handles it if he does start

But, but Mushchamp left y'all with no talent on offense.

Ivey is a MAN but he's still a freshman. You'll see plenty of growing pains this year. But this is the year you want to have them

starting a true freshman in the SEC is your counter to those questioning Florida's OL?

He's probably going to be a stud, but as an opposing fan I love the idea of a true freshman against us

He's a beast. I can't say I'm surprised he's pushing for a starting spot. He'd have been on Auburns two deep this season.

Yeah we know, so thank god Coach Mac recruited the best OT in the country last year... because Muschamp left UF with 6 or 7 scholarship offensive linemen...

True.

I think we just need to see improvement in the offense. Our WRs are still chit except for DRob.

Wait...let's get our facts straight.

First...Ivey is a 20 year old Freshman, so he is a mature Freshman...that will be in his favor.

Second, since Florida has 5 total Freshmen in their OL 2 deep, he will be the same age as many of his peers. This means he will be more comfortable than most Freshmen OL, who have to come in and play with teammates much older and more experienced than they are.

From what I have read...the Florida OL 2-deep

LT - Sharpe SO; Harkless RSFR
LG - Riles SO; Jordan FR
C - Thurman SR; Dillard RSSO
RG - Dorsey RSFR; Mike RSFR
RT - Ivey FR; Harkless RSFR

Ivey will be a stud OT...but even a stud Freshman has struggles from time to time. That is compounded when you have inexperienced players playing next to them.

The reports on our line seem to be from the Spring still. We've added some decent players and Thurman is back now so that's good. We certainly don't have a top tier line by any means, but we have some pretty good players on it. People forget Sharpe was a very good freshman tackle for us, so feel safe with his position, and no reason to think Ivey who is as highly touted as you can be won't be as well. Halter has game experience though obviously lesser than SEC play, it's still better than high school experience for sure. Thurman isn't elite, but he isn't as bad as say Moore last year. So all in all the line is still our biggest weakness, but it's not as weak as it looked like it would be in the Spring. Riles and Dillard worry me though

I don't think they are accurate. I was just wondering where some of your more "focused"/obsessed fans got their info.

I don't ever look up info on the other team. It's just not my thing. I'm not bashing you for doing so mind you.

I would assume the starting line up is

Sharpe
Riles
Thurman
Halter
Ivey

Wouldn't be as terrible as thought
