Should've done this days ago

What should have happened is Barnhart should've sat his arse down and ripped him for throwing another Kentucky program under the bus.

And made him publicly apologize.

Stoops says he hasn’t talked to Cal, Cal says they talked on Thursday.

I am definitely team Stoops.

UK's football program is coming back from the dead to be a regular in the top 25, and it's all because of Mark.

I don't see how there's an argument otherwise.

He says he reached out to him. Probably called his office and left a voice mail

Cal didn't say they talked, just that he "reached out" and hadn't spoken to him yet I believe.

Which is coach speak for now I'm going to have to call.

Stoops is more relatable and seems down to earth. Cal is a slick backed haired typical arrogant Yankee. He gives off that sleazy used car salesman vibe.

That's all he's ever been, every meaningful thing he's ever done has been forfeited due to cheating. The exception being the 2012 championship and we all know that was just as dirty but theyre protected like unc with their academic scandal. If he doesn't have a SIGNIFICANTLY more talented roster he gets out coached evert single time. Fortunately for him he has the most athletic team in every arena he's ever entered. If the guy could teach the kids he pays how to play basketball better he would be dangerous.

And if folks don't think Cal's comments won't get used against Stoops in recruiting, well, they don't understand recruiting. frick Cal's selfish arse.

Calipari knows this too which is baffling why he did it. My guess is something deeper than this. An indirect attack on the AD or perhaps boosters.

So this is what this all comes down to.

Joe Craft (basketball practice facility) was built in 2007. It does need to be upgraded, I'm not going to dispute that.

Barnhart has been focusing on upgrading football and track and field facilities in the last few years as football and T&F was sharing Nutter Fieldhouse (which has had some minimal upgrades but is an older facility than Joe Craft). They are now building a separate T&F indoor facility (that will likely host SEC Track Championships as Nutter did) and football will have Nutter to themselves which will also receive a $25 million-ish upgrade.

Cal is PISSED this is coming before upgrading a newer Joe Craft. And when Barnhart told him he had to wait (remember, Rupp has also recently received a large renovation) he decided to publicly make comments that ended up demeaning the football program.

TL;DR: Cal's being a spoiled arse bitch and got called on it.

Are Kentucky fans going to turn on Cal?

Even supermodels get cheated on. Y’all better not take him for granted, might not be another stud behind that door.

Perhaps Cal needs to stop and think about how many titles his diaper dandies have actually delivered in Lexington.

Calipari is childish. If I was Barnhart I would show him the door.

Has Calipari apologized?

Stoops was trending on Twitter under Sports a little bit ago. It's not just UK fans paying attention to this.
My point is that the only reason people care outside of Uk is because there’s nothing going on rn

I'm no Calipari fan, but what he said wasn't wrong. Kentucky is and always will be a basketball school. Hell, they're one of the top 2-3 of all time.

Stoops is a great coach and is building a stout football program, but he would have to go on a Saban like run to turn them in to a FB school.

This just sounds like Stoops using this to put a bigger chip on his team's shoulder. Probably not a bad strategy.

Cal tried to make a point about how Alabama is a football school, Georgia is a football school. Those programs get things when they need them, like when your practice facility needs an update. We are a basketball school and the Craft Center needs some TLC apparently. That's all he needed to say and meant to say. Why he went off with a patronizing comment about the football team made no sense. Just a dumb dumb dumb dumb statement.
