IF he is let go and buyout paid, isnt Art Briles the perfect candidate?

The stink from Baylor is going to follow him for awhile. As it should. There's absolutely no telling what we haven't heard and everyone here knows just how bad things can get at Baylor before they actually do anything about it (see Dave Bliss and the basketball program).

As a woman, I'd consider giving up Kentucky Football if they ever did hire him. And I think a lot of our fanbase would feel the same.

There's three coaches I'd have no desire to have at UK at this point, win or lose: Briles, Petrino, and James Franklin. Just too much "extra" shite that could absolutely ruin a program that isn't a traditional power.

I read that his buyout is something like 12 million dollars. I don't think Kentucky will spring for that.

Did it really take buyout that large to get Stoops on contract? Seriously, what other programs were pursuing him at the time?

Pretty solid UK "no fly" list

UK has the tightest policies in the SEC on things like drugs (1 strike gone), drunk driving (pretty much same), and other assorted tomfoolery. I think UGA under MR was next toughest. It limits both acceptable coaches and limits recruiting, but is this a price to be paid to not be another Penn State or Baylor.

Surely they could get a solid coach at UK...are UK fans crazy about Stoops?

It is the "invisible fence" if the guy has off field issues

UK coaches have to fit the community in ability off the field

Billy Clyde was gone almost from the start because folks around town soon learned of his off field issues. Jerry and Bill were acceptable before they got to UK because of their "boy scout" ways. Between the catholics, baptists, and presbyterians in the area, they all keep a tighter lid than some other schools.

Stoops is a really nice guy. UK should give him more time.

For $12 million? 0% chance.

Read this morning that it's actually $18 million to buy out him and his coaching staff, which you'd have to do to have any chance of getting a decent coach in there. UK is stuck with him. No way they're coughing up that much coin.

Their AD should be fired for mere stupidity for agreeing to that kind of deal with a totally unproven coach.

So long as they're winning basketball games, I doubt anything will happen to him.
