Agreed. The reason guys like Broome and Sears are still in college is that they are not highly rated NBA prospects. Broome will get drafted but likely late first round. I don’t see Sears getting drafted at all. Older, small guards don’t appear often in NBA drafts.
Broome will get drafted in the late first round because you can't teach height.
Sears has a problem where his offensive game is very Kyle Lowry-like but Lowry was a respectable guard defender in the NBA for many years. Sears just isn't that type of defender and never will be in my opinion. He's late 2nd round to UDFA territory. He'll probably be playing in Europe or China in a year or two.

Looks like a player the pels will draft

35% last season which looks like a bit of an outlier considering he was at exactly 29% the season before and this season.
On what volume?
JB is a great BB player.
He does not have as much raw athleticism as most “lottery” picks.
I’m not an NBA GM so maybe somebody in the lottery loves JB.
All I said was modern NBA seems to like LeBron, Durant, Giannis, Ant Edwards, types in the “lottery.”
Do teams concentrate on denying JB the 3?
Rick Barnes is a great defensive coach. After he made the first one, UT still chose to allow JB threes.
JB was a great college basketball player. He is very effective near the basket.

Ease up boss.
I think JB is a great player.
I don’t think he is a lottery pick.

I assume defensive minded coaches are devoting entire game plans to running JB off the three point line.
You are taking this too far. Name calling is not required for a cogent argument.

I dont either but that is because he is a tweener between a 4 and a 5, perimeter defense, injury history and other traits.

You are the one running with the narrative that he cant shoot the 3. Your problem

I have refrained from name calling.
I don’t consider the 3 point shot a strength of JBs game.
He's a great two way post player.
Skillful rebounder, passer.
Needs work at FT line.
Needs work at 3.
Range in NBA is further out.
He is not a next level stretch 4 right now.
I wish him the best.
I prefer to see him work in the post and get to that magic left hand.
JB shooting a 3 for us is what other teams would prefer if you surveyed 15 coaches.

Well that's dumb. He is our shot blocker that can also make threes. That puts stress on their defense as they can't just clog the paint.

Sears bench himself earlier in the season.

Coach Oats is good at this rebuilding thing, but NOT at the expense of coddling the talent. It's a slippery slope as we watch head coaches trying to keep their best players out of the magic portal and it often leads to concessions that hurt the locker room and on the court/field success of the team in the long run.
Nate Oats has never played that game. He wants what he wants and if you don't give it to him on offense or defense, you will be sitting beside him. Portal potty be damned.

It's actually refreshing to watch.

Exactly.
Oats is saying, “You want to play in the most NBA-friendly offense? Then, you have to play defense my way.”
Give/take relationship.

Nate Oats on the elephant in the room (Mark Sears not playing in second half).
"I'll just say this, and I'm not going to talk any more about playing time stuff, we went with the guys in the second half that thought gave us the best chance to win this game, and we won the game."

How so? I guess they don’t play defense in the NBA. Because that’s exactly what he needed to improve on to go to the next level.

Without knowing all the stats, and being happy when they go in, I'm usually yelling NOOOO at the TV if Broome is shooting 3s in games/times that it matters.

The days of guys like Dennis Rodman, Ben Wallace, and Gary Payton are long gone.
In today's NBA, anyone who even attempts to play defense is labeled a "good defender".

He was offered a huge NIL deal and Bama has a NC ceiling as a result.
He’s been a critical part of the team and will continue to avg 20pts a game moving forward.
But I don’t doubt for a minute there is some drama given the emergence of Philon and Holloway. They have huge ceilings, but also show their youth at times.
It was wild seeing a 5th year guy crying on the bench, have to wonder if the issue wasn’t more than PT.

Well that's dumb. That dude and Kelly are literally the only two that made a three yesterday. He also had a better 3 point percentage than Lior, KD, Aden Holloway, Chaney, and Chris Moore last year.
