Hasn't won the big one, but has an outstanding record and has never compromised integrity for winning. Never covers up issues. I don't think there's another coach who cares as much about helping players progress to the next level as he does turning the boy into a man of God. I'm sure the rest of the comments will be idiots trolling his lack of NC's, but as much as everyone would love to dig up some dirt on him not being as good of a man as people say, there's never been a shred of evidence against it. Truly is a father figure to these young men.

Richt is a great man but this is horse crap.

Guys at tons of other programs fall over themselves to talk about their coaches helping them figure out life and/or the NFL.

About time he gets some credit for being such a great football coach

He's won SEC COY twice fwiw.

Also there's no way in hell he'll win this award unless we win it all. But I agree, nice to at least make the semifinal list.

Jumbo Fisher being in this list is shameful.

I'd vote for Richt a hundred times before I'd look at Jimbo. Yeah, he's just missed a few times. But Georgia is a quality program under him and has been for a good long time now.

Mark Richt, COTY? What a joke. Lost to two bad teams.

Dan Mullen should be SEC and national COTY.

Mark Richt is slowly becoming a very good coach. Richt isn't exactly a quick study but he has benefited by learning from years of bad mistakes. I think that winning it all is just around the corner.

I hope he gets another raise and extension for life out of the deal.

Ok but he's not going to strip an 18 year olds scholarship because he didn't produce. Saban out.
