Just a thought....

Mark Richt and his family recently relocated from Miami to Destin, Fla., about 170 miles from Tallahassee.

I heard it mentioned after the FSU loss to Boise St. that put the question out there...would Richt leave retirement to go to FSU?

Good question. I'm not sure he would, though.

Destin > Tallahassee. It’s where you go full time when you retire.

That wouldn’t be a bad idea. Although I think FSU could do better, that’d be a safe hire imo. You know he wouldn’t do awful there, like Taggert, but I don’t see him getting them back to NC status. He’d make a better ‘step in the right direction’ coach, but he wouldn’t get them back to being elite.

It will take him 4 years to turn that program around. He couldn't do it at the U, doubt he can turn around FSU either.

He’s nearly 60, has made millions, and is retired in Destin.

That’s a dream scenario for most of us on this board.

Freeze coaches from hospital bed, Richt coaches from yacht. What a world we live in.

That's a reasonable question but I think Richt is done as far as coaching goes. I don't think he has the fire left for it and living in Destin FL as a multi-millionaire ain't a bad life at all.

This isn't the first time you've "heard something" which was nothing more than one single other internet stranger on another site just fricking around. If richt was too burned out to coach at his Alma mater why would he come out of retirement to coach another dumpster fire? Why would FSU even hire him?

He appears to be having fun on the ACCN. Honestly seems to be stoned most of the time.

FSU's athletics is hurting financially. The won't even be able to get rid of their current coach, but even if they did they just don't have the money to go for a proven commodity.

Look, Destin ain't Lake Tahoe and it ain't as prestigious as the Hamptons, but for the south, or basically anywhere else, as far as beaches and area go, it's as good as it gets.

What kind of moron would say no to this: , which is probably about what Richt has.

Been to Tahoe and The Hamptons, I would take Destin over either....and Bozeman or Whitefish, MT, over any of those.

I love Lake Tahoe, but the Hamptons is for rich North Eastern's. I’d choose a 1000 places in the south over the Hamptons if I was that wealthy.
