Program? No. But USC did finish top-5 just before Tanner became AD. What Poster said wasn't inaccurate.

I desperately want a baseball program back. I'll settle foe continued football mediocrity, but I want Omaha back as the benchmark. Men's basketball is looking up, and women's is the standard. Give me baseball, and IDGAF whatever Beamer does.

In fact, the year Tanner was hired as AD .... we finished #4 in the country in football.

So the poster was correct.

poncho .... do you ever get it right? Do you know the psychological term applied to an individual who is perpetually and consistently wrong but sees himself as always right?

USC needs to do a thorough search and if that search includes Landon Powell, great! I wouldn't give it to him because of his USC ties. That would be a big mistake.

2013 Final AP Football Poll

Top five finish means top five team, not top five program.

He should be included in the process, along with the other four candidates ..... two of which really shouldn't have to interview, it would be a formality.

This is going to be a tough hire.

Good for the cocks. LSU already experienced the legendary head coach being an AD pain

Carolina would be a fool not to hire Godwin from ECU.

Ok Smarty-pants, what's the difference between a team and a program?

Supposedly, dude is from Greenville NC, and doesn't really want to leave there. The handful of East NCers I've known really do want to and try to stay put.

That respnose is unfair. Tanner had zero to do with Spurrier completely screwing over our football program. In fact, Tanner convinced Steve to stay an extra year. Can't fault him for trying to keep Steve around. Spurrier just decided he wanted to be a quitter.

as for the baseball program, Holbrook was national assistant of the year and the second in command under Tanner. He was the perfect guy to take over. It just didnt work, which isn't really Tanners fault. I can't argue against Kingston, so I won't try...that was a bad hire. With that said though, we were UF winning the natty away from Sully being in Columbia that go around.

Tanner hired Lamont and Beamer. Shane had 2 killer years, and then last year. I want to see how his next 2 go before I really judge, but he seems to be doing okay in the offseason. Lamont turned our program around and put life back into it.

Tanner is the guy you want in the AD office if you have good coaches, because he knows how to keep them there.

one year vs your entire football history. The people pointing out we werent a top 5 program were correct. We finished top 5, but program wise we were pretty bad.

Rooster i hope youre trolling by saying you want Landon to be included in the final 5 for the coaching job....That would be the stupidest hire in SC history. At that point you might as well keep Kingston.

also Idk why that person you posted in your last post would say Gary Gilmore is a candidate...He just did his retirement tour. He is done.

I’d look at Pollard from Duke if I were y’all.

Pollard took several years to get duke rolling. Does he have that kinda time in the sec? Does usce have that kinda time? I imagine they’ll shoot for a big splash, you don’t fire a guy after going to the super and the ncaa tournament without the expectation of winning immediately.

Are you serious?

The state of a program is measured over a period of time, more than a single or few seasons.

Case in point, if South Carolina was a top 5 program in 2013, were they a top 5 program in 2014 and 2015. They still had the same coaching staff in place at that time did they not?

Moreover, in the history of South Carolina football, only once has the team finished in the top five.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings but USC has never been considered a top five program.

Ok Sammy Semantics, I’m 95% sure the random Twitter dude that’s ruined your day meant he took over when the TEAM finished in the top 5

It is not that serious to be writing paragraphs my man
