nk he means matt flynn... who I think was a 5th round pick... beating out brian brohm (who I think was a 2nd round pick)

Brohm is Petrino's onlyt current NFL quarterback. LINK
quote:

Green Bay Packers Brohm was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round (56th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he was the third quarterback on the depth chart behind starter Aaron Rodgers and backup Matt Flynn. He was waived on September 5, 2009. Just days later, Brohm was signed to the practice squad.

Matt Flynn is starting where?

possibly to the Mallets favorite team: LINK

Current thinking has McNabb going to Minnesota, which would work out for Green Bay because they probably wouldn't trade with Minnesota anyway. The Dolphins and 49ers likely are looking for more than one quarterback this offseason, so those two teams become the Packers best options.

quote:

Outside of that, Flynn gets to ride the bench. At this point, though, Flynn's career is going much better than expected. A seventh-round pick in 2008 for the Packers, he has managed to not only stay on the roster, but have some measure of success. Most seventh-round draft picks either wash out or are NFL nomads, adding depth to rosters of various teams around the league. But Flynn has stayed with the Packers, and now he has real trade value.

pre-draft trade rumor: LINK
quote:

After playing well during limited action in 2010, Green Bay Packers quarterback Matt Flynn has generated some interest in the trade market. Among the teams that could be interested, the Tennessee Titans seem like the most likely landing spot for the former LSU Tiger.

and: LINK

quote:

Dan Pompei of the National Football Post mentions that there are multiple teams that are considering Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn. The Packers feel that Flynn is ready to be a starter in the NFL and see him as an all-around winner. Pompei’s source suggests that Flynn could net the Packers a second-round pick.

If that ends up being the case, Green Bay would have three picks between #32 – #64, plus they should get a compensatory pick for losing Aaron Kampman to Jacksonville during last years free agency.

Tennessee Titans’ interest in Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements created some speculation that the Titans could also be interested in bringing Flynn to work with Clements.

Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette tweeted that the Panthers plan to “explore all avenues” when asked about the idea of trading for Matt Flynn.

Flynn remains one of the more cost-efficient quarterback options on the market which will ensure that his name will continually be brought up until teams start filling out their rosters.

A simple Flynn is holding a ring in each hand, one from the pros and one from college would have been sufficient.

Considering the list of QBs during his time as a College head coach consists of Chris Redman, Brian Brohm, Ryan Mallett, and Casey Dick, how many of these is he suppose to have in the league? 50% currently and 75% over-all having played is bad?

Leave it to the SECr to flip this into a negative. Lots of players remember the teams that passed on them. It's not just a football thing.

I'm glad he's mad at the Dolphins. After the ways Daddy Shula and Dolphin fans trashed Alabama and Saban when he left, I could care less if they ever win a game. You should have seen some of the team boards from the Miami area shortly after the tornado in Tuscaloosa. Totally making fun of the situation. This coming from the place basically solely responsible for shipping hardcore drugs into our country. What a proud legacy Miami has given our country.

The Arkansas Razorback quarterback has vowed revenge on the Dolphins because Miami passed on him twice and took a center and a running back, his dad, Jim told the Boston Globe (from the NBC Miami article)

What a complete idiot. He'll probably never play a down for NE, unless Brady gets mortally injured in a game.

As a lifelong Dolphins' fan, I can only say the Fins draft was a good one, and if they pick up Palmer or Kolb in free agency, as is expected (desired by most Fin Fans), they will have the last laugh.

Does anyone think Mallett is going to be a huge success in the NFL? Or will he go belly-up like JaMarcus did?

I guess so, Brohm's stock in the draft really took a hit after being coached by Kragthorpe...

I'm sure it didn't reflect well on Brohm that his coached coached a preseason top 10 team that was a darkhorse in the MNC discussion to a 6-6 record, really reflected poorly on him.

Stefan Lefors was the shite in college.

He played in the NFL so at least Petrino can say he got him there.

Did I? Was it he who was the QB his first year at Louisville or was it Redman? I could be getting mixed up, I'm not looking the info up.

Did LeFors make an NFL team at any point after college?

Was wrong about Redman, Petrino was OC only one year while he was there, had him mixed up with Lefors.

So we have:

Lefors: Drafted 4th round by the Panthers. Currently with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Brohm: Drafted 2nd round by the Packers. Currently with the Bills
Mallett: Drafted in the 3rd round by the Patriots. Currently with the Patriots*
Dick: Undrafted. Camped with the Jets making it to the final cut, extended a tryout by the Dolphins in 2010. Currently: Banging his hot wife.

Are we really to blame Petrino for Nutt offering Dick a scholarship?

So what you are saying is, that Petrino QB's are flops in the NFL?
