Leach will have Mississippi State competing for the SEC West. Texas Tech and Washington State were both abysmal before he took over. Anyone underestimating this hire does it at their own peril.

Maybe once every 4 or 5 years. I think his tenure will be very similar to Dan Mullen's at State.

He won division titles 2 times out of 18 seasons at those schools.

He'll be fun, entertaining, have a few seasons where they win 9-10 games and beat teams they shouldn't, but he has laid out a pretty consistent history of what to expect. And competing for the SEC West regularly is not one of those things.

Why you only go back to 2007?

Only Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, and ALabama have EVER won the West.

Leach is a good coach. He will make MSU respectable but I don’t anticipate him winning the west, let alone the SEC. he will probably have 8 win seasons with the occasional 9-10 win years with upsets.

Miss St is not going to be some football power house. It’s a brutal division.

Youre right, Ole Piss has never and will never win the West, Gags wont either.

Laugh all you want, we aren't melting nor are we scared.

Also, I was riding with you counts but now I am going to be the biggest prick you've ever seen if you lose Monday...

You bitch.

I mean, where is he going to get players from? He'll have 5 of the best recruiters in the entire sport all around him in Nick, O, Kirby, Lane and Pittman.

MSU will become a tougher out, and a tricky game unlike this year. Different style but not unlike Mullen did. Perhaps a step below.

Now I doublt MSU will become a real threat to win the conference. This isn't 1998 when Leach/Mummy were throwing it all over the yard while everyone else ran the ball between the tackels. That "schematic advantag" and the difficulty of preparing for something different is gone. Bama, LSU and others have embraced the forward pass and do it with more talented players.
