Absolutely. I don’t think Sankey ever envisioned a scenario where the SEC gets less than 4 teams. Committee completely ignored SOS and put 4 B10 teams in, 2 ACC teams in a truly terrible conference whose best teams never played each other.
Half the field hasn’t won any game of significance. Why, with all the power, participate in a process designed to punish the conference for having a lot of really talented teams?

In this case SMU will schedule FIU instead of BYU and end up with a 12-0 regular season

Why stop there? Drop to 6 conference games, schedule 2 non conference games against weak ACC or B12 schools like Wake Forest or Cinci, then 4 cupcakes. You would still have a better SOS than ACC, B12, and most B10 teams.

Even you clearly didn’t read what I’d posted previously, none of which was specific to Bama being left out or you would understand how three SEC teams were just screwed over and how absent criteria changes the SEC is at a major disadvantage moving forward.
But despite that, LSU and Auburn fans are celebrating more right now than they did for any win all season.
Because they don’t care if their own teams suffer moving forward as long as Bama is out.
That’s a pretty impressive inferiority complex when you’re fine with something bad happening to you as long as it also happens to someone else you don’t like.

Same here. But ConChamp games should allow winning teams to get a ranking bump in the field of 16.

No, they established you can't lose to two 6-6 teams, one that finished 3-5 in the SEC and the other that finished 2-6, and expect to be rewarded with a CFP berth.

Which just proves your lack of intelligence and understanding of the big picture. There will come a time when Alabama is no longer in consideration for anything and we still have this problem of schedule imbalance because the conferences are not built equally.
