I’m always a sucker for meaningless historical stats, so here are some breakdowns that will have absolutely no impact on who actually wins on Saturday:

Since Houston Nutt came to Oxford in 2008, LSU has played Ole Miss in Oxford 9 times

Overall record in those games is 6-3 in favor of Ole Miss. (I thought VHS was a high school stadium with no home field advantage??)

6 of those games have featured an Ole Miss team with a 7-5 record or better - LSU has lost all 6.

LSU rankings at Kickoff
2009 - 8 L
2011 - 1 W
2013 - 6 L
2015 - 15 L
2017 - 24 W
2019 - 1 W
2021 - NR L
2023 - 13 L
2025 - 4 L

LSU teams that were ranked #1 and appeared in the National Championship game are 2-0 in Oxford. All other teams are 1-6.

LSU Heisman winners are 1-1.

LSU is 2-0 against Matt Luke but 1-6 against Houston Nutt, Hugh Freeze, and Lane Kiffin.

Lane Kiffin is 3-0 in Oxford

QBs who have lost to LSU in Oxford:
Barry Brunetti
Shea Patterson
John Rhys Plumlee

QBs who have beat LSU in Oxford
Jevan Snead (RIP)
Bo Wallace
Chad Kelly
Matt Corral
Jackson Dart
Trinidad Chambliss

Other than blowouts in 2015 and 2021, the 4 other Ole Miss wins have been decided on the final play of the game (excluding victory formation).

I know LSU fans want a blowout, but unless Ole Miss is in the middle of a 2-10 season (2011) or LSU has the best offense in modern history (2019) that just isn’t likely.

Personally, my favorite of these games was 2013 when a defense headlined by John Youngblood managed to shut down Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr and Ole Miss stormed the field after

I remember Ole Miss put a converted receiver on OBJ and shut him down.

Seems pretty consistent with your history. Win 65% of your home games against LSU and 10% of the away games. Conveniently leaving out LSUs 6 wins in a row from 2002 to 2007. Congrats?

I’m glad the series has gotten more competitive over the past decade . It kinda died down as a rivalry. This game will mean more from here on out . This game will not be a blow out . Hopefully it’s a classic .

LSU fans love to complain and insist this year will be different.

Some of my favorite quotes from this same thread before the game last year:

quote:

You cherry picked shite. I doubt you score more than 13 tomorrow.

quote:

Good. We have a winning record against him (Lane) and he completely choked away the game last year.

quote:

Brother, it’s going to get bad quick once Harold Perkins starts throwing hands

quote:

18 mil last year for a team that should have brought y'all to the playoffs and what happened? Your coach is Lane Kiffin.

quote:

Yalls only chance to make the CFP was ruined by an average LSU team last season.

They are drunk at noon belligerent retards who are losers in real life and live vicariously through a mediocre football program and a coach who wears shite filled shoes.

Wait…Jevan Snead died? Wow. Guess I missed that, or had forgotten that.
