I was honestly surprised at that tidbit and the don draper laughing meme is timeless, like Miller high life

You're continuing to argue the fact that individual games tell the story about Aranda when they are included in the overall data out on him that shows he's an elite coordinator.

Would you say Will Muschamp is a competent defensive mind? Nick Saban? I can find numerous examples of their units giving up major points.
i gotta agree here, as it is ridiculous to even blame the defense in a 59-0 game. Obviously the Offense couldnt have even won if the defense had pitched a shut out that day.

I'm not blaming him for losing the game but I'm definitely blaming him for 59 points. Largest point deficit since Alvarez took over. It's fricking embarrassing and I'm much happier with Leonhard.

I'm not saying he's incompetent but there's an argument to be had. A competent coordinator doesn't give up 59 to a third string QB. A competent coordinator doesn't go from Wisconsin to a blue chip SEC team and then lose to that same Wisconsin team, giving up more passing yards than rushing, the very first game of the next season.

I read this stuff and avoid it for the most part. I take it for what it is - social media trash talking. Unfortunately if you are coming to this site to find out real info you have to be good at sorting the gold from the trash.

As I stated in another thread response, I simply look at the Burrow addition as the opportunity for LSU to quit showing up to gun fights with a knife. Therefore I am encouraged for what the season holds in store.

I actually heard this explanation for the 59-0 whitewash from a contingent of Bama fans. In this season the only chance the Big10 had to make the CFP was for tOSU to win huge. Baylor and TCU were in a dead heat in the Big12 and Wisc had no chance to make it. Therefore the call went down from the Big10 office for Wisc to take a dive. tOSU wins big and makes CFP. Baylor and TCU are left with each others dicks in their hands and the Big12 is shutout. The following Monday morning Gary Anderson of Wisc resigned and went to other OSU (no, not OkSt but Oregon State). As far as the call going down from conf office, who better to know that the REC.

Not arguing about it... just CSB info

Nick Saban and Kirby Smart's defense gave up 42 points to the same third string QB with a boat load more talent and a month to prepare.

Jesus, his defense gave up 16 points in that game for christ sake and was out possessed by 13 minutes. You are dug into this argument, but instead of going on you should realize it is actually more admirable to admit you were wrong.

Yea I've heard that as well but I think that's Alabama projecting. They may or may not have the kind of power within the SEC so they assume OSU does in the Big Ten but the power is more evenly spread there. As much as I'm shitting on Aranda in this thread it's mostly just Rant-rhetoric for the hell of it, I do think he's good, and I blame Andersen way more.

Believing that theory would require dismissing the much more likely explanation, that Gary Andersen is really off and the pressure broke him, as is evidenced by his decision to move to Corvallis (his family didn't like the liberal party town that is Madison), his break down there, and his weird decision to decline the buy out payment. Andersen is just a weirdo. It would also require a person to ignore the pull Alvarez has in the Big Ten, the idea he would agree to a fall that large is laughable.

That 59-0 game against Aranda's D at Wisconsin came at the hands of Ohio State's 3rd string QB. OH YEAH

I'm wrong about what? That no one can question his competency? That simply isn't true, there's space for questions and a lot of them. I've raised them in this thread, just because you dismiss them doesn't mean they don't exist.

So he took a job in the Pacific Northwest, which might be the most liberal part of the country?

I looked up the exact number because I remembered Ezekiel Elliott running all over them. I'm surprised the number wasn't higher to be honest

He was really good in 2014, but that was a huge coming out party for Zeke.

Getting this kid is only upside -- especially for a team needing better QB play. It's a no-brainer.

OSU had a great running game and a great downfield passing game that year. That's a really tough combo to stop
