I didn't look up all the rematches but the UF/FSU game turned into a 52-20 rout. Not sure about the others.

Your are right, it was a RE-MATCH from the same College football season. Here is a hint your team lost the first game.

That's my canned response to LSU fans who claim that Bama didn't deserve to be in the BCSNCG. I don't believe it any more than LSU fans believe that Bama didn't deserve to be there. They just say it to get under Bama fans' skin, and I respond in kind.

I let that one go because even he doesn't believe that statement.

Fair enough...I do the same time to time out of irritation...I think I've stated a few times UA was 3 scores better than OSU (imo)...apologies and I'll edit.

The thing is, Alabama probably didn't deserve to be in that game, but it's not their fault teams ahead of them choked and the coaches voted for them.

I didn't, but alas, the evidence is against me.

Well OSU certainly shot themselves in the foot but a premise I've never seen challenged is this: Was OSU a top 5 club to begin with. Their D wasn't average nor mediocre...it was downright horrible. That's why an ISU even had a chance to begin with. I think the gap for 2011 between LSU/UA and everyone else was pretty much a chasm.

Yeah, I think Okie State might've gotten the nod over Bama even with the ISU loss if they had dominated all their other opponents like Bama and LSU did. But they squeaked by A&M and KState and I think that and their defense hurt them with the "eyeball test"

Sorry, this information is on a need-to-know basis only. When Arkie needs to know, we'll let you know.

I think a lot of people saw that D for what it was.

I can't help but think Saban has started to figure out ole Les can be beat if LSU's offense is limited by mediocre QB play.

Guys, show a little respect for all that LSU accomplished last year. After all they did beat 4 ranked teams. Their greatest claim to fame is that they did beat the eventual National Champion.

Our biggest claim to fame does not compare. All we did was shut out and beat down some over rated under prepared team on the biggest stage of the year.

This entire thread is a public toilet at a Montgomery truck stop that hasn't been cleaned in three weeks.

I just talked a retiree that works at Lowes ..Huge Michigan fan.. Loves to talk ball when I come in.

he said, "me nor any of my buddies liked the rematch and found it "uninteresting, and "proved nothing"

"1-1" on the season

"someone else deserved a shot at LSU who went undefeated"

The only people wanting a rematch were Alabama fans, the Alabama players and coaches and ESPN.

I think the old man today at Lowes pretty much speaks what most of the CFB thought about Alabama playing in a rematch

Same conference (" no")
Same Division ("heck no!")
Already played and lost at home to LSU ( "Why would I want to see that again for National Championship?")

Pretty much the thought process of most college football fans around the country

That's a fact

The BCS process is fine to a point... We need new provisions...one of them being "Win your division or just shut and wait for your bowl selection"

Correction we beat 4 more ranked opponents than did Alabama

3 of which were accomplished on a field not name Tiger Stadium.
