I like what state tried to do. Just didnt have the guns.
Gotta play the receivers tight on the line to disrupt the timing of the rpo.. and disguise pressure packages ..of course that opens up other things but it could create some turnovers.

Well Donold, first I'm going to start with a little Gameday while I cook my kids breakfast. From there it will be a lot of grilling, drinking, eating, and hopefully some fricking post game.

grilling bama's secondary, drinking bammer tears, and eating 500 total yards? sounds good to me

With 2 inches of rain forecast for Friday and Saturday, dissipating around gametime, I am legitimately worried about the LSU quick passing game. A soggy field obviously hinders the receivers and also can affect Burrow's accuracy with the tight windows he throws to. I would hope the LSU coaches adjust the route running a little to plan for this.

Stopped when you said we dont need balance. Past few weeks nobody has been more balanced.

The field drains well. Look to 2013 game vs auburn. It rained hard before that one and the field was in great shape

I don't know enough about LSU to game plan against, but if planning against Auburn:
Offense:
Use middle of field to set up deep pass; use deep pass threat to set up run
Defense: rely on blitz packages to take away the deep ball since youre playing against a true frosh qb, pull up help to stop the run/screen passes.
On defense, Auburn has to surrender the middle and stop the run/big play and tighten up in the short field. LSU will probably spend a lot of time on aubs side of the field; Auburn has to keep them from converting every redzone trip into a TD.
I don't know what Auburn can do offensively. They have to protect nix and give him confidence, and go from there, or it's going to be a long day.

Burrow loves to attack middle of the field.
I feel you just have to keep them in front of you and make them take the long way down the field of dinking and dunking

Lsu needs to come out with their foot on the pedal. Score early and often and make Nix play catch-up.

LSU offense - very similar to Florida. Lot of short passes early to set up the run. Take shots when you get a good matchup.
LSU defense - crowd the line and play extremely aggressive on the edge. Don’t let auburn get outside.

Watch what UF did on defense.
Do the opposite.
Freaking do not run zone..just don't do it. Burrow eats that shite alive.

Auburn needs to play tight coverage on the receivers. Might get beat deep, but you can’t let LSU throw easy passes. Auburn’s defense should be able to stop the run without selling out for it, although LSU’s run game has been getting better.
Auburn’s offense needs to attack the middle of the field and establish the run. It’s going to be hard to complete 50/50 balls against Stingley and Fulton, but LSU hasn’t been great against the run this season and doesn’t have a consistent pass rush.
I actually like the matchup for Auburn’s offense and think we will score some points, but I’m not sold on our secondary and don’t know if we will be able to get enough stops to win this one.

The WRs and QB know the routes, the DBs have to react or anticipate. If the WRs don't slip, they're going to have a little more separation coming out of the cuts just due to the field.
And if you are a DB and are anticipating, and guess wrong, you're more likely to get burned bad, rather than just let the guy get some space.

I disagree. Auburn needs the run game on offense to win. Then pepper long passes in there.
That's Gus's game plan week in and week out. When it works, it works. When the run game fails, we lose.

Oh, I know that, but Gus will always do or die by the run, even with our lackluster stable of RBs and Oline. He has no answer when the run game gets shut down (take the Florida game for example). We looked like a high school offense in every aspect when the run game failed and he tried passing. Oline couldn't block, Nix was a deer in headlights, poor routes.
Our pass game only works after we establish a run game.
Fortunately, we haven't played a lot of good defenses this year.
