Just bet my max on Under 64.5
USC supposedly hired the swinging dick defensive coaching staff from hell, and LSU's offense has to figure out how it looks in battle without Nabors and Brian Thomas.
Fair enough, or not really?

You could also say that USC just lost the number 1 pick in the draft.

lol, they will be outside the to 72 in total defense.
Only way this stays under is if LSU holds them below 24

LSU hired one of the best defensive staffs in the country. Easily a top 10 likely a top 5 staff. Both team lose stud starting QBs and most of their production at WR. USC is limited at RB.
With all that being said both offenses will still have success. I think that under will hit only because LSU is going to use it's strength on the oline to attack a weakness of USC and keep the ball on the ground more than most think thus shortening the game.

I feel pretty strongly about the over, tbh, but who knows.

Anthony Ray "D'Anton" Lynn II
This is his second year as a DC, one at UCLA. In his one year at UCLA, they were 10 in Total Defense and 14 in scoring defense.

On the flip side. sc lost their 2 top wrs. Their top 4 WRs for '24 had all of 60 receptions last year. Three of the 4 accounted for UNDER 30 COMBINED. LSUs top 4 receivers for '24 accounted for 135+ catches.

Edit: Dammit I made an arse of myself, I didn’t realize they have Co-DC’s. Eric Henderson is from Nola. His name popped up in the LSU DC search this past offseason.
USC’s DC is D’Anton Lynn, son of former Chargers HC Anthony Lynn. Per Wikipedia he was born in Plano, TX and went to high school in Celina, TX.

USC's defense is going through an overhaul............and if it doesn't work, we'll be having a coaching overhaul.
Most USC fans/alumni love offense, but not like we love a great defense, which the Trojans historically have had. In over 60 years of watching USC, I've never seen our defense this poor. It's awful!!
Pete Carroll had both great offenses and great defenses. McKay the same. i don't know if we'll ever get another good one again.
Riley better produce or else.

Honestly, SC looks to have a stud secondary. The DL has high potential guys; DL with more potential than LSU's DL. Will this new staff be able to coach up and develop their DL and LBs? We'll see.

I also took the under. Both DCs will show many different fronts to confuse these offenses. The defenses will be healthy and flying around. Plus, it's a heavyweight fight. I think it's a 30-27 type game.
