Yeah, if he likes not winning NC's
Don't want Jimbo though

The biggest off field story in college football was when tu thought they were landing Nick Saban. The entire fanbase thought it was going to happen…

I have not followed closely but couldn't Jimbo remedy the recruiting issue by removing himself from consideration?

Here come the "I wont be Alabamas next coach" clowns.

The only way Lsu is going to land Jimbo is if they offer him a lifetime contract. Basically, a 10 year fully guaranteed deal the auto renews yearly. Plus he’d have to make north of 10 M a year. Think they can manage that?

Damn, LSU already took their AD, now they might take their coach. This may be the biggest off field story in college football.
Well the good news for you is no one wants to hire Sark. You guys can have him for as long as you want him until you move on to Rebuild 4.0 of the Post Mack era.
As stated Jimbo is not going anywhere barring some truly unforseen event. He has no reason to leave. He's making stupid money. He is able to pay all his Assistants stupid money. He has complete Admin support and an AD he got to help pick. He has top notch facilities and another $300 million in facilities on the way. There is literally nothing else he could want and if he dreams something up he basically just needs to ask. Add in the on field and recruiting success and why would he leave?
The last fig leaf that mattered was the idea that recruiting at LSU is easier than A&M but that narrative is pretty much toast based on what A&M's Class is looking like this year. He also knows that if he does actually get that Championship then A&M will give him more money than Saban.

I believe the LSU AD wants him, because he hired him once. Beyond that, I just can't find a single reason anyone else at LSU would want him. He's not a horrible coach, but I don't think he's anywhere near the level that commands the amount of money he currently makes.
If LSU could get him for 4 years at $5.5/yr, sure, kick the tires. Otherwise, seems like an easy hard pass.

This was the impetus for authorizing his raise and extension 8/31. Plenty of sources available announcing the deal. You can try John Sharp and see if he’ll take your call. That’s the most credible source you’ll get.
So no actual source.

It makes no logical sense for him to leave A&M. He has $90MM or whatever guaranteed to him right now. His contract basically takes him into retirement. LSU would have to not only match what A&M has guaranteed him but also be willing to get into a bidding war with A&M, and that would result in a ridiculous contract in terms of length and guarantees for A&M or LSU. I'm not going to say Jimbo is a shite coach, but I think most would agree that his current guarantees are unprecedented and anything more would be hard to justify for anyone but Nick Saban. I honestly think Jimbo is a smokescreen. Woody may want him given their relationship, but I think Woody is smart enough to realize the numbers just don't make sense. The ship has sailed with Jimbo, and I really wish people would move on from that idea. The only way it would make sense is if money isn't a driving force whatsoever, which I don't believe is the case.
Holly cow an LSU fan with a good take!! In a sea of trolls it’s good to read a good post once in a while, lol!!

Hey you make some good points and I just have a opinion, no facts. The only facts are that 1) the AD relationship, and 2) Jimbo has a zero dollar buyout…hard to understand that?
I find the part in bold amusing that people are keying into this point so hard.
First, Jimbo had a $0 buyout coaching at FSU. So this narrative that Woodward installed a $0 buyout so he could poach Jimbo again down the road is laughable. A&M just continued the terms of Jimbo's already established contract he had at FSU.
Second, it's not unusual for high level coaches to not have buyouts to leave their programs. Look at Saban's contract - hint, no buyout for Saban to walk away.
Beyond that, I believe LSU finds amusement that the A&M coach COULD leave for LSU and of course the recruiting impacts that speculation might have in the months leading to the end of the season. But it's simply not realistic.. thus the 'there's so much smoke here' narrative keeps getting pushed on the LSU side 'we don't want him, but i'm hearing it's a done deal.'
In reality it's laughable how pitiful that program has become 2 years removed from a natty.

Show me proof Jimbo is going to LSU or even thinking about it?! Yet here you are.
Jimbo received a raise when LSU came calling in the summer (Google is your friend)
Otherwise why would A&M give him a raise out if the blue like that?! I’m guessing common sense and doing Google searches are not your forte

Citing fansided should be an auto-ban.

First of all most LSU fans don’t want Jimbo.
Second, Woodward’s most recent hire Jay Johnson just signed the number 1 recruiting class for LSU baseball, and the big concern with him was his ability to recruit.
Third, Will Wade, like him or not has rebuilt our basketball program which was finished in top 3 in SEC every year and has “damn strong offers” everywhere.
Forth, whoever the hell he hires, is almost certainly going to be a huge improvement over what we have had since Saban and they still won 2 National championship, lost another won 3 or 4 SEC titles, etc. Which over that time is more than anyone else except bama btw.
So the days of the semi sleeping giant are over, and the justifiable fear in the air is palatable. Saban has maybe 3-5 years left max, and bama’s puppet Mark Emeritt will follow him.
Does anyone really expect Georgia to get their shite together every year, Florida is dumpster fire, Kiffin will never stay at Ole Miss, arkansas and State are in good hands and maybe UT and Miss State but they simply will not have the talent base to contend every year, Auburn is always a threat as long as you don’t pick them 1 or 2, it will take UT and Oklahoma a few years to adapt, etc. Faggies could screw up getting laid in a whore house with a black card.
I hope it’s someone different every year or so, but LSU is uniquely going to be in a position to complete for title year after year after year.
We are entering a new era, the era of elephant is coming to end, and the era of the Tiger is about to begin.

Forget common sense.
If the College Station gazette had an article stating that Jimbo was believed to have received a phone call from Woodward over the summer, then that would suffice.
Source noted.

Take your shots now because we both know which program can win NC's and which can't.

LSU has talent, and Orgeron probably wants that win more than any on the schedule. I just don't think LSU has enough to beat A&M this year. We will see soon enough. First, we have to get through Ole Miss

I can't find a credible source that says LSU reached out to Jimbo over the summer triggering the extension.
Drop a link.
