I think the OP brings up some good points, but I see a glaring difference.
Saban went 8-4 and 6-6 in his first year at LSU and Bama respectively, while Sumlin went 10-2.
Obviously Sumlin is a much better coach than Saban and A&M will be more successful in the next 10 years than LSU was in the last 10.

Alabama turned the ball over because they couldn't run the ball on our defense and were forced to throw when down 21 points in the first quarter. We are not impressed with Saban. We won't be until you can actually manage to beat us.

KS is about the 5th or 6th best coach in the West. I'm giving him a slight edge over Dan Mullen.
