College athletics doesn't get government funding. If he wants to be petty and pull research dollars, I guess he could do that, but that would give China an advantage in advancements.

Well, at least it will be after Bayou Billy 2.0 that you guys hired
Imagine being stupid enough as a program to think that was going to be the answer

It will be interesting and I expect a court challenge on the Federal dollars. If he wins, then colleges will 100% comply,
Federal money far surpasses athletic budgets. Florida surpassed $1billion in research money,
The EO is not a bad thing.

The federal government coerced Louisiana into raising the legal drinking age from 18 to 21 because the federal government threatened to cut off all federal highway funding if they didn’t. If that had happened the only modes of transportation that would be possible in Louisiana today would be boat or horseback. That would have affected a lot more than this would.

UF offered him the same money….don’t be so bitter about coaches choosing better destinations over your fav team
We only offered 25 million NIL. LSU obviously promised and delivered way more. Was never about destination or Lane’s pay. It was about how good will my players be.

An executive order is not a law. Schools can pretty much ignore this.

Gee if only Louisiana produced tons of high school talent and was located in one of the most talent rich areas in the country.

Right, it was never about destination. It was only about going to the place where the best players would be.
Makes perfect sense now that you broke it down for us!

Wait. You don't believe it will have ANY impact?
None?
Not a scintilla?
It had 'some' impact the moment it was announced. Sphincters buttoned up all over the recruiting landscape.

How can it from a legal standpoint?
We’ve already seen the court system side with the athletes time and time and time again.
