Book it now, the TDay night game at Kyle with LSU next year with 109k may be the loudest any college stadium has ever been

Nah.

December 2, 1989 is the loudest sustained noise any college football game has or will ever witness.

I think it's pretty obvious they tried their best to represent different conferences.

I used to take a trip to the Swamp every 2 years. The way the stadium sits isn't conducive to loud crowds for some reason. I mean they are loud but not REALLY loud. It's almost weird how it works. Also, I met Fred McGriff once outside the stadium.

The reason the stadium is so loud is because of how it is built. First 30 rows below ground level and steep sides trap in the sound. I've been to all the major stadiums in the SEC and you can't differentiate between Tiger Stadium and the Swamp, both are incredibly loud and are able to maintain that level of noise. You are splitting hairs trying to rank them based on noise.

I'm excited to see how much louder Tiger Stadium will get after the SEZ is done.

We're going from this:

To this:

Judging from the horrible acoustics at Kyle (noise escapes up), that's quite an accomplishment.

Expect it to jump to #1 once the stadium renovations (including the Seahawks-style canopy) are complete.

In fact, it might get so loud it may make folks start throwing up.

A&M? Yet another no one mentioned until lately, and specifically before Manziel came along.

Lol no.

We've always been at or near the top of these lists. You just notice it more now since 1) we're in the SEC; and 2) we're actually relevant.

Pretty sure the priests get wasted.

I don't think the 7k more fans is going to be THAT much louder, but rather the actual structure being opposite the student section will trap noise way better.

CANT WAIT.

I call bullshite on Kyle field, Maybe if it was a bowled in stadium. But a lot of noise has to escape from the open end zone.

05 Bama/UF is easily the loudest game I've been to.

I've been to every home game since then and that has been the loudest game so far. Hell...and that was before the last expansion. The TN T.Cody block was about equal but that was just for a brief period. Not sustained like Florida 05. I would love to go to Tiger Stadium but tickets are always hard to come by! I'm sure it rocks though!!

Kyle Field is loud. I would put it below LSU, Florida and Auburn. In the Bama range depending on the opponent.

We talk about how loud Kyle Field will be when its enclosed. Think about how hot it will be when there is no circulation in there. They should have just domed that sucker. It will be sweltering.

LSU fans, just curious. How do you rank the 2008 Bama game in terms of crowd noise?

I was at that game and I don't really remember it being extremely loud. It was loud really early IIRC when Saban arrived and the first bit of the game but I don't remember coming away with pain or a ringing in my ears or anything I'd expect from a truly loud game.

The LSU-UF game that year is the loudest game I've ever been to. Couldn't hear for days, basically - my ears were honestly still ringing on Monday.

Wait, I'm talking about 2007, shite.

2009 Florida was really loud until our offense happened...

(ESPN reported crowd noise might cause Tebow's concussion symptoms to return, I got to the student section 2+ hrs before the game and it was already full. Florida came out onto the field in suits and the SS erupted and screamed until they left the field. Then Florida "stomped" on the eye and LSU went out to "confront" them. Was pretty awesome time for a little bit.)
